Rams released DE James Hall.
The move immediately saves St. Louis $3.5 million, but leaves the Rams without a realistic bookend for Leonard Little. If Chris Long falls into the Rams' laps at No. 2 in April, there's probably no way they could pass. Hall, 31, is injury prone and had only 2.5 sacks last year. His tank is close to E.

trading with them and getting another pick/player would be sick, and we would only drop one spot. What do you guys think?

no way they'd trade. so what if we pick chris long? they take jake long to solidify their o-line and pick up a solid DE in the top of the 2nd.. also with all our d-line signings (and even moreso if we sign pace) its growing less and less likely that we'll take chris long #1 overall imo

Why in the hell would they do that? If we sign Pace, how likely is it we take C. Long anyways? I dont fully understand what you are trying to come to in this thread. Please explain.

I would only do it [if I were the Dolphins] only if we somehow got Ty Hill and we got their pick right after us [which would be stupid] so this would never happen.

the fantasy scenario would be that we select Chris Long, the Rams freak out, then give us their pick (#2 overall) and a first next year. Or their pick and their second pick (if they still have pick #33).

then we either take the guy we really want (if it wasn't chris long), or trade down again to someone who wants matt ryan or darren mcfadden. :D

key word here is fantasy

The only way this trade gets completed is if Eli Mannings dad says that Chris Long wouldn't be a good fit and that he wants to play for the Rams, like he did with the Eli and the Chargers.

Way more likely (but still less than 10% chance, IMO) is that the Rams are concerned that Orlando Pace is becoming injury prone, and are believe that the Dolphins would take the player they covet to be the heir apparent. (Jake Long)

Not likely in either case.

Its a pretty deep OT class. Rams trade up to #1 to get Chris, afraid that we will take him.

Makes sense to me....
