This is not a hate Feeley or anti-AJ thread. I like AJ Feeley and I have supported him for a long time. I am simply accepting reality and stating what I believe may be the best option for the Dolphins.

At this point in the season it is silly to debate whether Gus is as good as AJ. By most accounts, they seem to be at about the same playing level. That, in itself, is an indictment of AJ. We gave up a lot and, more importantly, we are paying him a lot to be our #1 QB. However, we are not paying any of the other QB's a lot of money.

Sage Rosenfels has paid his dues and deserves a shot to be our #2 QB. I have always felt like he has never been given a decent chance. With the Redskins, Sage did everything he was asked to do and showed a lot of promise. He has been very impressive in this preseason with a QB rating of 108. Yes, he did well against scrubs, but he is also playing with scrubs.

AJ may still have some trade value and I really think we should explore getting something for him, even if it's a second-day pick. I'd be satisfied with a 5th rounder to replace the pick we gave up for Wright.

The main thing is to end this experiment, let Gus run the offense until we can get a bona fide starting QB, give Sage his due, and clear some cap space, no matter how small. I just don't think AJ is worth the bucks we are paying him anymore.

OK, this isn't smack... but nobody is going to trade for Feeley... no pick, first or second day...

The guy was the worst QB in the league last year, and followed it up by being the worst in preseason thus far... not alot of value.

Vinny Testaverde gets a call first.

Why would anyone want to trade for him. He's an unproved commodity. What do you think you'll get for him?

maybe if wanny was coaching another team we could have gotten something for him.

Trade him for what? Spielman hasn't landed anywhere yet, has he?

Agree completely.

I agree.... (and it was apparent it wasn't smack! ;) )

We'd get nothing for AJ at this point. Not saying he won't come around... just that his trade value right now is nada.

Testaverde is about 100 years old. Feeley still has value. Look what he did against the Patsies last year. He's also a good backup QB with potential. He's just no longer any good for us. He doesn't fit.

He may be a good backup.... something you guys need...

I don't think you're paying him alot this season, you aren't going to find a guy with experiance, especially in your offense at this point... he has more value to the fins than anyone else..

If he dosn't rebound and win the starting job I'd expect him to be released after the season... sage or Him 2 or 3, and Double B on the practice squad.

Nobody will want him. He played awful last year and he also has been playing very poorly this pre-season. Feeley will be a very good 3rd stringer for somebody.

Yaay another AJ thread.
:)

AJ simply hasn't played better than Gus. It's better to go with Gus, see what Sage can do at backup and let BB develop as the 3rd QB. Cut your losses short and take what we can get for AJ.

What's Spielman up to these days? When, or if, he gets another gm job, there's are man !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
