We need players at all positions .trade back from 13 to late teens pick up a 3rd .then we should do the same thing in the second and pick up another 3rd or 4th .This class is deep at a lot of positions of need and we need players on both sides of the ball.

It takes two to tango. Of course trading back sounds good, so good in fact every team should do it, but why would anyone trade up? You have to have a position in the draft that another team needs for them to draft a prospect, so who is there at thirteen that another team values enough to give up a third round pick? You said late teens which would be ideal, now which of those 2- 3 teams covets the 13th pick and player available?

If the class is 'deep' why would teams want to give up assets to trade up. The few things I have read the general feeling was it's not particularly a great draft class.

We have done pretty solid in rds 4/5. Maybe some of those same scouts are still around. I'm for trading back in the 2nd if possible but I hope we can get a solid BPA in round 1.

I could see Denver or Kansas City wanting to trade ahead of the Rams at #15 to get Paxton Lynch. So that could be a trade partner. Long way to trade down from #13 to #28 or #31, but should be able to get a lot of picks in that scenario.

I wonder who Miami would target at the end of round 1?

I was thinking the same thing about the Rams wanting Lynch. However, my problem is 13 is a great number for us. My gut tells me we should stand pat and take a guy who can start for us at 13. It's time to break the curse. ;-)

Whitehair, realistically. But you'd have to get something really good, like a high 2nd round pick which they (Denver or KC) flat out down have. We seem to be pretty adamant about getting lots of picks for the future but I'm not sure we make that trade. This draft will still have a pretty damn good player available at #13, unless something crazy happens.

Whitehair, or Jackson III maybe!!! Guys I can think of...

Depends... We could easily miss out on our target for the pick. Someone sees the Dolphins are now at 19 instead of 13, and say Apple is there for a team needing a cb, we could lose a top target of ours pretty easy

Trading back is how you guarantee getting cheap, mediocre players and let talent slip away to other teams.

In other words, EXACTLY how we have become what we are.

Patriots did this for a few years awhile back. Haven't looked at their drafts to see if that strategy paid off or not. They win with other teams trash year in and year out.
