This wll fill the void left by Marshall, Floyd is 6-3 220, ran a 4.47

3/12/12: Floyd answered any doubters with a fantastic Combine. His 40 time was better than expected and addressed any speed concerns. With other receivers not performing as well, Floyd moved up as the second-rated receiver in the 2012 draft.

Throughout this season, the senior displayed the dynamic skill set that makes him a mismatch against defenses. Floyd was Notre Dame's most consistent weapon in 2011 and commanded a lot of bracket coverage. This year, he caught 100 receptions for 1,147 yards and nine touchdowns. Floyd has excellent hands and concentration. It wasn't until late in the year that he had his first dropped pass of the season.

Floyd has excellent size, speed, quickness and body control. He looks like true No.1 receiver in the NFL. Making Floyd's draft stock harder to estimate are the off-the-field issues from previous years. It is difficult to determine right now how heavily NFL teams will hold those run-ins against him.

Sounds like a great ideal. One problem, who the fouck is going to throw him the ball?

If you trade back for Floyd you may not get him. It would not be a reach to draft him at #8.

It most certainly would be a reach at 8. This is a sad day to be a phins fan guys.. Why create another hole Jeff? Why? At least Brandon brought a sense of excitement to the team on Sundays. It makes no sense to trade a player who is with out a doubt a top 10 player at his position with the plan to draft essentially for the same kind of player. I swear JI makes me want to give the whole GM thing a go.

If you draft a Michael Floyd at 8, you are paying him 4 years and 12 million. 7 million less than Marshall per year. Floyd has #1 ability and was right next to Jones had he entered last years draft.

You also pick up a 3rd this year . . . Miami would have 3 more picks in the top 73. Floyd fills that hole up at a lesser price. Sure I don't like the trade still, but there are some positives there.

Your link is going to walterfootball, but in the mock draft of walterfootball Michael Floyd ist already picked at #7...

If we traded back and grabbed Floyd, I'd be ecstatic. He's not Marshall yet, but he has a ton of potential

Yay 40 times. Id prefer to hang on to the pro bowl WR who has done it at this level...and is in his prime.
Mike Mayock, who covers Irish football, says Floyd simply does not drop passes, not even in practice. We know he probably does, but he has great hands and route running to go with his speed.

The reason why the 40 time was important for Floyd was to confirm what people see on film. 4.4 with his talent screams draft me . . . I think he is now the favorite at #8.
