A lot of you know me on here. I'm prone to the occasional outburst. However, I like to think that my outbursts do have merit.

With that said, I would like to see both Chambers and Madison traded after the season. Now before you give me a one sentence witty retort, let me list my reasoning.

Chambers just doesn't have "it". The "it" I speak of is that intangible quality that differentiates a clear # 1 WR from a #2. The I'm going to take over this game mentality. The clear unmitigated focus that he's going to catch anything thrown at him. Whether it's for a much needed 1st down or just a dump off pass. I've been watching him since we drafted him. I just like you, was "wow'ed" during his rookie season. I still remember watching him torch Indy on MNF that year. Since that season he has shown flashes of greatness. But, those very same "flashes" have been book cased in dropped passes and near misses. He's never become the WR that he could be. Most of us can list the reasons off the top of our heads : Lack of strength at QB, Poor offensive schemes, etc. etc. But, as someone once said, "Great WR's make bad QB's look good." He has yet to achieve this. The only consistency I see in Chambers is his lack of consistency and lack of focus. He'll make the ESPN highlight reel catching some wild thrown ball with one hand and then follow that up by missing a catch that hit him in the hands or the #'s.

These problems with Chambers wouldn't be so aggravating if he weren't considered our #1 WR. If he were simply a #3 he'd be great. But, we keep not going after a wowee #1 because we have Chris. This mentality has to stop. We are where we are at this point. But, I wouldn't be half surprised to see Chambers either traded in March or demoted to #3 behind Booker. Obviously, QB is our primary concern but I want to see us go after a Chad Johnson, Braylon Edwards, Moss kind of player. One that will dominate the game. I know that they are hard to come by. But, we need to realize that Chambers is not the guy at the #1 spot. If that ain't clear to Saban he need's to see the Eye Doctor.

I know, I know, We haven't had a qb to take advantage of CC's abilities. That's the most common retort. But, didn't we have Fielder during his breakout year? Wasn't that the same QB for the following 2 or 3 years? A WR's job is to catch tha ball! CC either stops running and let's the ball go over him. OR, he tries this dipsh!t mopve of thrying to jump for it when he obviously needs to keep running full out to where the balls going. Now, I know I'm an out of shape white guy....But, I can't remember the last time I saw anyone jump farther & faster than they could have run.......????

Madison. Oh Sammy Sammy Sammy, how you've fallen. You were fantastic during the JJ era. You were good during Wannstedt, to a point. You suck whale dong so far during the Saban era. You just aren't the corner you were. You got flambayed during the Panthers game. You were iffy during the rest. You need to go while you still have at least a diminished marquee name. No INT's in three years? Is that your Agents fault? No, it's yours Sam. Pat carried you for far to long.

All this Chambers bashing is absolutely ridiculous. No one ever considered him a top 10 WR... he was a late 2nd round draft pick, whats the problem? He is the best receiver we have... period

Actually i agree...I would like to keep Chris if possible, and get young stud reciever to lead the corps. He would make a great #2 at this point, i think. There has been talk about Chris never being the same since the cheap shot he took in Denver a couple of years ago. Maybe there's something to that. Sammy on the other hand, this will probably be his last year in aqua.

So it's ok for Chambers to drop easy passes because he was a late 2nd rounder? Then why is Steve Smith such a good receiver when he wasn't drafted until the 3rd?

The problem is he is being paid like a top 5 WR. We also hear that this will be his breakout season year after year. Oh and booker has had a 1000 yd season with a crappy QB. Not saying booker is better, but I will throw that out there.

That's where the bashing comes from. It may be frustrating, but it is understandable.

Good point.

I'm not bashing him. We just need to get past the "We have CC so we don't need a top flight receiver" mentality. Keep him or trade him I don't care. Just find a legitimate # 1 that can do what a # 1 should. Move him to # 3 behind Booker.

Chambers is better than Booker.

I can't really comment unless I know what you expect to get in return.

It's not like that Doc. I'm not a draft or FA guru. I just hope Saban knows that CC ain't it at #1 and that Sam should go while we can still get something for him. I'll leave the rest to Mueller and Saban.

Fiedler had a breakout year? I must have missed it.

No chamber's rookie year was Chambers break out year. Fiedler couldn't break out of an egg.

Since then Chambers has broken back into whatever it was that he broke out of.

Check your stats pal. Booker has consistently been a more productive WR. A Pro Bowl under his belt as well.

My problem is that your initial premise -- indeed the thread title -- was "Trade Chambers and Madison." That's all well and good, but I wouldn't support a trade just for the sake of getting them off the team.
