Trade Deadline.....Guard or MLB?

Say we win Sunday over The Texans to get back in this thing. Anybody know if any of the bottom teams have a guard or middle linebacker with an expiring contract we could throw them a pick for. Do you think we even try? I mean Sheppard and Thomas are the worst guys on the field right now. Thoughts?
 
Maybe they can trade Jennings

he can see more snaps somewhere else.

We can definitely use a better LB than Shepperd

Trade the 49ers for bowman. That's the best I could come up with, but the price tag wouldn't be worth it. Earl Thomas is distraught! Maybe if we still had Odrick, we could trade him and Misi up there lol
 
Nah, roll with what you have. More work to do this offseason.
 
Unless the Cowboys are willing to trade La'el Collins for Rishard Mathews (and they aren't), there isn't anything else out there worth pursuing.

Hell, I'd trade Mathews to get back our 3rd rounder at this point. I still think Kenny Stills has the bigger upside and there's no way we can pay FA contracts to Derrick Shelby, Lamar Miller, Rishard Mathews and Olivier Vernon next year (and Vernon isn't worth it, either). Once Devante Parker hits the field he and Stills are your outside threats - with Jarvis Landry and Jordan Cameron pushing the middle and deep seams. There's simply no place for Mathews after this season, even with as well as he's playing now.

agree with Hayden. this season isn't likely to go anywhere after the 1-3 start, coaching change and remaining schedule we have. roll with what we have, lets see what Campbell brings to the table the rest of the way...if we finish 8-8 or 9-7 it will be impressive.

I agree. In reality, we are 1-2 years away from being a serious contender. Keep our players and draft MLB and LG. Add a few vets to complete the team.
Hopefully Campbell will stay so we have continuity on the staff (with a couple of minor changes)
 
This draft has some good LB's. Get a stud LB in the 1st, once and for all, and find a nice corner in the second who isn't a smurf. Billy Turner may be the answer at RG. That leaves LG for a veteran pickup. FS is another issue. Aikens has 11 games to show something. DE is something else we need.

As much grief as Dallas Thomas gets, and deservedly so, its amazing how useless Sheppard is. He's beyond awful. What a weakness that position is. Some of us have been screaming about this for years.
