Now that we own 7 picks (Bleacher Report), should we trade down or not?

Always trade down if possible. And trade picks for next year. There has been studies done and the data clearly shows that players selected in the 2nd and 3rd rounds have more value than first round picks. Additionally, teams place a value on first round picks that clearly make no sense. Also, the premium placed on picks this year over next year is really dumb logic in general.

Huh?

Depends who is on the board...

Cunningham is there- take him. maybe others but more picks in the first few rounds would be great

This scenario I would say yes to.

The chart indicates the value is short of a 3rd only. That is too greedy.

Yes trade down and keep on trading down. The real value in this draft is in the 3rd and 4th round, and our idiot GM traded our 3rd and 4th round picks away.

I would have to say that it would depend if our guy in the first is still on the board as well as if anyone projected higher started slipping. To not have a pick in the first round vould be a bad move ,even if we get a 2nd and a 3rd.

I'm always hoping we trade down, unless someone falls that is unexpected and is someone high on our draft board like Tunsil last year and Parker the year before.

But this is a deep draft class.

We would be stupid not to trade down. We are talent starved on defense and might be forced to spend a relatively high pick on a guard if we don't sign two starters. Not to mention this draft is deep at DT and it's a need if we don't sign a starter as I am not confident in Jordan Phillips ever becoming consistent.

We need 2 linebackers, 2 defensive ends, 2 guards, 1 defensive tackle, and a nickelback. Not filling all of those holes in free agency.

If trading down nets you the opportunity to draft 4-5 prospects in the top three rounds then you've got to do it. There isn't going to be a "can't miss" player on the board at 22. Charlton, Reddick, Cunningham, Davis, McKinley, Harris are all similar level players. You'll get one at the end of the first round or even top of the second just as you can get one at 22.

Yes try to pull of a pats trade next years first and a 2 this year
