How many years ahead can you draft picks from?

for example can we trade for a draft picks in 2018??

No coach would EVER do that...they wouldnt do it past the next yr. because they never know their future. Why would they give players, etc. away for a pick when they might not even be coaching the team in a couple years? They're only hurting their ability to win now by doing that. Your job is NEVER secure an guarenteed in the NFL...thats the business.

I know all that I was just wondering if it's possible to do it for far ahead

I doubt it, don't all trades have to be approved by the league?

yes... but if there is a limit what is it?

I'm doubt there is a limit but I bet if it was longer then a year away they wouldn't let the trade go through.

that would be a great idea if you could stock pile draft picks in the future and get the picks like dirt cheap...great idea

I believe the limit is one year, but I don't remember where I heard it. (I'm also not sure if it's true)

When we traded for ricky I think we gave away picks for 2 years am I mistaken?

There has been 1 or 2 cases in the history of the NFL where a draft pick for 2 years later was traded.

It can happen it just doesn't happen.

I will try to research it up but it actually happened very recently.

It was like SD or Buffalo got a 1st or a 3rd from like 2 or 3 years back.

I've heard of 2 years in advance in the case of conditional picks. I don't know what the actual rule is. I'm going to try and find it now.
