i havent heard his name for at least a month and I am not sure exactly why. Matt Shaub would be a great quarterback to have here in Miami. He is only 24 years old and has shown that he can play in this league. Many of you have talked about wanting to give up a 2nd round pick to Culpepper. I think that would be a huge mistake on our part if we did that. We are not sure if he will be the same player after his injury. Brees on the other hand is asking for way to much money. There is also the possibility of him never recovering from his injury also. Matt Shaub would be a cheaper solution for us and we probably could get him for a 3rd round choice. He is the best solution for us at this point. He could come in here and start right away. Why has this guy been unnoticed so far?

There was a very animated discussion about this last night.

They will not let him go for anything less than our first.

Rumore has it that Saban already offered them our second.

At any rate, he hasn't been unnoticed.

With the oft hurt Mike Vick, no way Atlanta let's him part for a third. I'm thinking second at the very least. They know what they have in him, it's not like a diamond in the rough situation.

oh ok i didnt know about that at all

While we're at it why don't we give up this years second round pick for Seneca Wallace? We would make Spielman proud to say that he left his mark on our club.

i'm sick of getting other teams' backup qbs...thats why i dont wanna get him

just because he is a backup does not mean he is a bad player.. There have been many players that were backups on one team then became very good starters in this game.

True. But there are just as many who didn't.

I would prefere getting a proven, not to take anything away from Shaub, he could be a great QB one day. He could also trun out to be another A.J Feely, granted there is always a risk when taking a player and putting him somewhere new, but at least we would know what guys like Brees, and Pep are capable of. I have said, and will continue to say go for the more proven guy.

A more proven player at the quarterback position is what everyone would like. Culpepper and Brees are proven starters in this league. They have shown they can play football. But can they still play? Their injuries were severe. Many athletes were not able to perform at the level they were before. Lets be logical here. We would be taking a huge risk signing Brees or trading for Culpepper. It could have repurcussions on this team for years if we mess up. There is no way that Matt Shaub would be a bigger risk. Sure he may not be "proven" but he has not suffered terrible injuries like Brees and Culpepper suffered. We should not throw Shaub under the bus. If it came down with the same compensation it would take to get Culpepper, I would take Shaub. He is almost 6 years younger and has as much potential. He also is not as big of a risk if you compare him to Brees and Culpepper.

Here is the one from last night!

Yes, Cheaper, better and with the money we save, we could outbid Dallas for TO!

With that comes the playoffs, and a chance at the superbowl.

Brees with the best player in the game and a good D couldn't even make the playoffs on a stacked team.

Anyway a first or no deal, McKay might not even go for it even with a first.

A article in the Herald that someone else read, he said that Saban offered a second and McKay said no. I didn't read the article but he said it says the hut for Schaub is over!

I looked on the web for the article with no luck somebody who has the paper from the last couple of days could help us out I would be greatful.

Schaub is better than any other QB other than a healthy Daunte.

I have seen the boy 24 years old play every down including preseasons games for two years and he is a big time baller who might make Mike Vick sit the bench!

thanks for your help.. Im suprised I missed this thread. haha

he's in a west coast offense, thats all he's ever been in. a west coast offense is a big difference from the offense we run. it would be a big switch. i was impressed with schuabs play when he was running the show while vick was hurt. but who knows how he could be in our style of offense. he could be a bust??? i dont think it would work out my friends
