If a team came a callin' the Giants this week, offering say a 3rd round pick for Osi, can't help but think things could get interesting

What do we reckon? Would it be worth it? Would allow us to focus on reciever and quarterback in the draft..

You bet I would! You would be very lucky to find that kind of talent in the 3rd...

I'd do it for a 3rd, I don't know that I'd want to pay him that 8million or so a year he wanted though, considering we're having a hard enough time extending Wake's deal.

of course we should look into it....specially since we never draft any good players in rounds 2 or 3....might as well trade one of those for a good player.

Ozzy rules!!

I was thinking, trade 1st with the g-men and get osi? That is good value isn't it? While they throw in a extra 3rd

You people do realize the reason he wants out is b/c he wants a new contract right? While the 3rd round pick is a good deal for Osi, it would come with a HUGE contract demand also. If we are going to dish out a nice new contract for a DE it better be Cameron ****ing Wake not Osi. They are both 30, but Wake has a sure of a lot less wear n tear. Ill pass.

I'd do it for a 3rd but the thing is that Osi has been wanting to get paid. He's had injury problems, is getting older and we don't have the cap room. Probably not a fit.

Please stop making threads for players we cant afford. We have like 6mm in cap space, 5 of which will be taken by the rookies. No more dumb a$$ post about getting Osi, or Brees, or Mike Wallace, or Asante Samuel, etc, etc. Dont you people know anything about this team!! That's why Manning crossed us off the list immediately. That's why we low balled Flynn. And that's why Jeff Ireland sucks. We have no cap space and no real superstars other than Long and Wake............who, by the way, are grossly over paid and grossly underpaid respectively.

STOP THE TRADE TALKS!! It cant be done unless we are swapping a 7th rounder for a special teams or depth player (i.e. someone making the league minimum). We cant afford it!!!

Excuse us thread police. It's a discussable topic since we have a need for a pass rusher...especially since we have multiple third round picks! Cap room can always be cleared (restructuring, cutting, etc.), especially for a player of Osi's caliber.

Trade 1st? As in our 8th pick in the first round? Dude what the heck are you smoking?

Osi is like 30 years of age and does not have more than 2/3 good years in him and you want to give up the 8th freaking pick in the draft.... God

Sorry, you are right. Im going to start a thread about what Im going to do after I win the Powerball........because that would be an equal pipe dream. Why would we clear cap space for an older player that clearly benefited from having a ton of talented other lineman playing next to him, when we can draft a 21yr old to play for a fraction of the price (literally). We do need another pass rusher and I would trade a 3rd rounder for him, but not at his price. Especially when Wake is getting peanuts and is really the one who deserves that contract.

This has been brought up a couple times a over the last couple years I don't think it's gonna happen

He's 30 and is in the last year of his current deal. He wants a new contract bad. I'd rather take that 3rd rounder and draft a DE, who will be around longer and would be cost controlled until 2016. I'd be over this for a 5th or a 6th, because Miami could always sign him when he's a FA next year and keep the draft pick.
