Mike Tannenbaum is notorious for making trades. He did it a lot in NY and started again last year with the Alonso/Maxwell trade. Can anyone think of some realistic, potential trades that could happen?

New head coaches around the league means lots of movement for those teams. New HC's will want scheme fitting guys and that will free others up in turn.

This could be player for player, player for draft picks, moving down or up in the draft, draft picks for players, etc.

Ideas?

I have no idea but when he thinks he has a contender is when he gets very aggressive

so I'd expect some fire works

The only REAL bargaining chip Miami has is Laundry. I don't see them moving Laundry though. I guess you could say Parker, Lippett. So their only other bargaining chip would be the 22 spot in the draft. Miami would hope that a QB or two are there and some team is looking to move up in order to secure said QB. A team such as the Cleveland Browns who hold 2 seconds (33rd & 52nd). Cleveland also holds 2 first round picks, would you trade Laundry for their first (12) and 2 seconds (33 or 52)? Other than their draft spot @ 22, Miami holds very little value else where.

I hope you are right. Either right or wrong by Tannebaum, makes for an interesting draft.

I think if Foster falls closer to Miami's pick he's a player the Dolphins might trade up for. I've seen him projected mostly top 10 and I don't see Miami trading up that far. But, linebackers do tend to be drafted a little later than expected. If he's suddenly available around 14th I could see a trade up. Just a perfect player to jumpstart the defense.

More likely, though, I think the team stays put at #22 but trades back up closer to the top of R2 to secure either a starting caliber linebacker or defensive end depending on how the first pick went. The Dolphins need to get two starters from this draft IMO and another two in free agency.

Draft picks are trade chips for T Bum. I don't see him trading down, because that's just not something he does, but I could see him trade up at the expense of next years first or second round pick depending on who the draft room falls in love with. Maybe a trade into the top 10 or 15 to snag maybe Reuben Foster or O.J Howard at the expense of this years second and next years first.

We'll do good if we fill half of the holes we have this off season. We'll have to use 2018 to fill the other half of them.

I am looking at teams with new regimes. For instance, the Browns have a new DC and are switching to a 4-3 defense. They could be in the market for scheme fitting players.

Kyle Shanahan is the new HC in SF.

Vance Joseph could be looking for some of his old players to bring to Denver but he will run a 3-4.

Sean McDermott in Buffalo. Former 4-3 DC.

LA Rams now have Sean McVay as HC. Former Redskin OC who hired Wade Phillips as his DC.

That's what everyone said last year and we won 10 games. it's actually what everyone has been saying for a decade. One way or the other, the holes will be filled (That's what she said).

pretty sure tannenbaum goes along with the line of thinking that core positions are the ones that you make moves up for into the top of the draft...ie de, cb, qb

I'd expect if we did trade up it would be for a de but boy is the price gonna be high to even get to 15 from 22 in this draft

outside shot at a trade up for a reuben foster which probably requires top 12 after he tests so well at the combine

You can't give up draft picks, this team is close and we need ALL the picks we can get. The draft is heavy on the defensive side, just what we need.

To be fair that could've been because of the personality of the coach he was working with. Jury is still out on how he works with a Gase.

It's a bit too early to rank players yet. This time last year everyone thought Ragland was a top 20 player and he fell to 42. Darron Lee went at 20.

Pretty sure Gase was here when Tannenbaum traded for Alonso and Maxwell.
