Even though it is not fair value would you trade

Our #1 to Oak for

Their 1st(#3) & their 2nd(#34)

You are getting a 2 for 1 and you will still get Long, Dorsey or Goulston

I think we would have to throw in something else, like a third or fourth rounder along with our first.

I'd do it, but I dont think Oakland would.

I'd think about it. Maybe if they added a #2 next year or the right to swap 1st rounders next year.

I'd be much more inclined to swap #1's with them if they added Asomugha to the deal, but I have a better chance of winning the lottery.

They would REALLY have to want someone very very badly to throw so much at us for a trade of two spots IMO.

If you go by draft pick value chart

Our Pick would equal 3000

Those picks would equal 2750

their would have to be at least one more person involved or possibly a 3rd round pick for it to go through

Oh I agree, I don't think we will be able to trade down with anyone to be quite honest.

Which is the exact reason I hate that chart.......not that it doesnt have use. Just that getting the #3 pick and a high second rounder is such a steal (again just my opinion) that the chart reflects it poorly.

I don't know as fans we would like it but the GMs value moving up or down 2 spots as the difference between Championship and 1-15 :D . But like you said before i just don't see us moving the pick...

I'd do it in a heart beat, we'd still get our player and we'd stockpile draft picks. Heck i'd prolly still do it if they only swapped 1st and gave us thier 3rd. Saves us millions and we still get a premier player.

There is NO WAY Oakland wants to deal with signing the number 1 pick again.

Exactly. Teams can almost not afford to have the #1 pick two years in a row . . . which is why the NFL needs to do something about rookie salaries. In the meantime, the financial hindrance of the top picks needs to be factored into a new trade value chart. The old one is just absurd in this day and age.

If by some miracle Oakland were interested, I would love it if we made that trade. I would probably even throw in a second day pick.

If you go strictly by the value chart, you won't get anything done. The chart is only a guideline, not the bible. A good thing to remember is that the chart formula was created by Jimmy Johnson and in one draft he actually went backwards trading a future 1st rounder for a current 2nd rounder.
