these are a couple scenarios that i have been thinking about.....

1. trading ronnie brown.........its obvious that the only player that is viable at drafting #1 is mcfadden, he is the only player in this years draft this is good enough to warrant the kind of money that we would have to give. with that being said maybe brown could garner a 1st round pick to a playoff team somewhere in the 20-31rst pick

2. trading for derek anderson......has shown that he CAN lead an nfl team, cleveland is going to have to get rid of him (they are paying quinn alot of money and they need to get something for anderson), with that being said, maybe we can get him for a 2nd round pick.

3. chad johnson...........i may be going out on a limb with this one, the cowboys trade us their two 1rst round draft picks, marion barber for our #1 pick. Then we turn around and trade marion barber to cincy for ocho cinco.

Uh, let me think.. Trade out best offesnive weapon...NO! Nonono!..

And you must not have read the reports that McFadden draft stock is falling rapidly out of the top 20.. Mayock doesnt even think he is a top 20 pick anymore.. Not to mention I havent seen 1 mock draft that has Mcfadden at #1

Mcfadden at #1 is the obvious pick? Obvious only to you apparently

have you seen the volume of "omg how could we trade welker?" emails?

this website would crash daily if we trade ronnie to a decent team with a decent line and he starts going off

All three options will not happen, the only trade I see is the Fins trading down in the draft.

I like to think that there is a zero % chance any of these will happen, and thank goodness.

no prayer for ANY of that to happen... not only can it not happen, it shouldn't happen.... and won't.

so you'd rather take matt "i have a horrible completion percentage" ryan, than draft a franchise running back? and how are we going to trade that pick?

who are we going to trade that pick too? the only likely team would be dallas. we would also probably get barber, why wouldnt we try to trade him for chad johnson???

Absolutely not. If we are stuck with the pick Id take Dorsey or Long.. We already have our franchise runningback so no need to waste that pick

First of all, Ronnie has no trade value because of his injury. When he's healthy he is easily our best offensive player and last year he was playing like a top 3 RB. Why would we trade him? McFadden is not the top player in this years draft and it would be foolish to trade Ronnie and hope that McFadden can live up to the hype.

2. trading for derek anderson......has shown that he CAN lead an nfl team, cleveland is going to have to get rid of him (they are paying quinn alot of money and they need to get something for anderson), with that being said, maybe we can get him for a 2nd round pick.
Anderson is a one year wonder at this point and is more valuable to the Browns than he is to another team, meaning that no team is going to give up the 1st and 3rd that Cleveland will want in return.

We have a guy that is very capable of leading the Miami Dolphins in John Beck, we just need to surround him with talented players. Anderson is a product of a very good OL and even better receiving options, he would fail miserably in the same conditions that Beck had last year.

3. chad johnson...........i may be going out on a limb with this one, the cowboys trade us their two 1rst round draft picks, marion barber for our #1 pick. Then we turn around and trade marion barber to cincy for ocho cinco.
 No thanks

The Dallas rumor is just that, a rumor. Dallas is not going to rape and pillage their team to draft an unproven player like McFadden. We have no need for Marion Barber, we would be tying up way too much money in one position with both Brown and Barber, and neither player would be able to maximize their talents. You would be paying top money to 2 players, and you would be getting half the production from them.

Ocho? No thanks.

Fraud
Fighting with teammates
Fighting with coaches
Running his yap nonstop
Throwing his team under the bus in the media and begging other teams to trade for him, when his real motivation is a new contract (2 years after he signed an extension), which I called btw. ;)

No thanks

long i can agree with......but dorsey has shown that he cant stay healthy. also, brown hasnt played a full season since he got into the league, some franchise running back. wont he be 27 when the season starts, in running back years that means he has 3 more years till hes 30 and his career is over.

i want no part of matt ryan OR your suggested "franchise" running back in McFadden.

IMO DMC is barely in the top-5 of running backs, let alone the draft. I wouldn't be surprised if DMC falls out of the first round to be honest.
