I'm thinking that trading Wake, Grimes, and even Albert would not be a bad idea for our team in it's current condition. All three will help in 2016 but, what does that get us? A few more wins may actually hurt us more than help us in the long run. I would rather see a young and developing team who will have a high pick next year as well.

I would love nothing more than a new staff to come in and turn things around next year. However, reality says that ain't gonna happen. It will take at least 2 and likely 3 years if we are lucky and none of the three will be around by then. I'm guessing that we could get three mid round picks, "maybe" as high as #3 depending on the interest. Out of the three picks, we could have a starter or two in the near future, as opposed to nothing at all.

Opinions?

I have no issue moving any of those guys for picks. Just don't know that we'd get any value for Wake or Albert at this point.

three 7th in the real world. Maybe a 5th for Albert but why would you trade away your starting LT and second best O linemen? This isn't madden and you can't see the rookie ratings before you draft them.

I wouldn't mind trading them, but understand we will not get anymore than a 5th for any of them and that's being generous. Two years ago we could have gotten a 1st for wake, maybe even last year... But that ship has sailed.

My reality is that this team is going nowhere next year, and that the three will not be here when we can do something. I take a shot at getting what we can. I believe that we can get between a 3rd and a fifth for each from a playoff team looking for a missing piece. With Wake, I would hold off until we see the injury progress.

For playoff type teams, a pass rusher, cover CB, and LT with Pro Bowl talent is worth more than a 7th even if it is for just a year. Never played Madden but, this is NFL reality.

This team has not done great with draft picks in recent history. Trading serviceable starters for low draft picks...we do not even know who our GM will be.
Trading players? Not this year. We have to many holes and uncertainty.
God help us. Tannenbaum is running the team, and his ego is bigger than Ross's bank account.
The merry -go-round continues.

Hey in madden 98 u would get a teams first 3 picks for each of them

Who would trade for cam wake and that contract???? Who would trade for Grimes' contract?

For a trading team there is no contract, as there is no guaranteed money to absorb. They can deal with a black slate and give a new signing bonus to fit the players in without a big cap hit.

Only if the players approve. Why would they approve if they can just get cut and go to their team of choosing outright?

The 3 I mention are the only ones I can see getting something back for next year. The year after we get nothing.

Albert age 31 cap number if traded 8.4 mil Other contributing factors often injured.
Wake Age 33 cap if traded 8.2 mil other contributing factors returning from a serious injury torn achilles consider nature of injury and age of injured may never play the same again.
Grimes age 32 cap if traded 7.9 mil other contributing factors shown decline in performance and has disruptive wife.

On top of that all three players because of age, cap number and other factors listed are at risk of being cut. You may not play madden but you see reality through madden colored glasses. If the fins were offered a 5th for any of these players I would jump at the opportunity but when teams look at these players they see they are losing 8 million plus picks. This is not very attractive IMO.

The obvious answer is that they are still under contract not FA, they very well may like to move on to be on a playoff team (especially Wake), and there is no bad blood between them and the team. I cannot recall players blocking a trade in looking to be cut but. I am sure there were a few.

A trading team will give up a pick as to not get into a bidding war with other teams. IF we choose this route to trave, you will see this happen.

Again, the cap numbers are completely meaningless to a trading team as there is not guaranteed money to take over and absorb. My salary cap reality, with no influence from Madden or glasses, is close to 100% :)

We'd be damn lucky to get a 7th for Albert. He was injury prone when we signed him. Now he is even older and more injury prone. It's time to move on from him in a perfect world. But since it's not a perfect world, and we have SO MANY needs, we should keep him. Our line is depleted enough. I'd take a a 5th for Grimes. I want to unload Miko. But, because of Miko, we might get a 7th. Wake is likely more valuable to us than any draft pick we would get for him.
