was looking back at past 1st round trades to get an idea what it might cost for us to move up high enough to draft a Cooper or White. Here's a list comps: (from wiki)

2014:
No. 8: Minnesota → Cleveland (D). Minnesota traded this selection to Cleveland in exchange for the 9th selection which Cleveland had previously acquired from Buffalo and a fifth round selection (145th)

2013:
No. 3: Oakland → Miami (D). Oakland traded this selection to Miami in exchange for Miami's 2013 first-round selection (12th) and second-round selection (42nd).:tubes:

No. 8: Buffalo → St. Louis (D). Buffalo traded this selection and a third-round selection (71st) to St. Louis in exchange for St. Louis' 2013 first- (16th), second- (46th), third- (78th), and seventh- (222nd) round selections.

2012:
No. 12: Seattle → Philadelphia (D). Seattle traded this selection to Philadelphia for their first (15th), fourth (114th), and sixth round (172nd) selections this year

2011:#6: Cleveland → Atlanta. (D) Cleveland traded this pick to Atlanta for Atlanta's first (27th overall, which later became #26), second (59th) and fourth-rounder (124th) and also Atlanta's first- and fourth-round selections in 2012

#10: Washington → Jacksonville. (D) Jacksonville acquired this pick from Washington for Jacksonville's first- (16th overall) and second-round (49th) selections

2009:#5: Cleveland → New York Jets (D). Cleveland traded its first-round selection (5th overall, used to select Mark Sanchez) to the Jets for the Jets' first- and second-round selections (17th overall, traded to Tampa Bay,

According to the nfl trade value chart, to move up from 14 to 10 would cost us exactly our 3rd rd pick (which we dont have of course). Our 2nd would theoretically get us up to about #7. if White is the first WR taken, maybe cooper will slide down to where wed only have to trade 1 pick to move up for him.

We don't have.a 3rd round pick....if anything we are trading down.

if the board works out well.... i really would love to trade down a bit in the first!!!

Cooper is one player I could see Miami trading up for if he starts dropping a little. If he's there at pick #11 as some recent mocks have shown, I'd be very surprised. But stranger things happen in the NFL draft.

to trade up to #10 for us... we would definitely have to give our 3rd pick (which we dont have) to make it value wise equal. otherwise we would have to give like our 4/5/6 value wise (but i dont know what team would accept that.

so basically our 2nd rounder would have to go in a trade up.

i used the draft value chart when looking at this.

I don't think it will cost a lot, I don't think teams like this draft, and I think this off season trade activity is further proof of that.

yeah I dont want to trade our 2nd, i was just bringing up the notion. devil's advocate in me says go back and look at our history of 2nd round picks, Landry notwithstanding.

I would give up our first 2 selections for Amari Cooper in a heartbeat.

So we are dying to get a guy like Cooper to the point that we will trade up, but nobody else is dying to have those top players??? It's a down draft where teams are likely to trade up for elite talent. And lower round draft picks would have incrementally lower values.

Would have felt so much better had we given up our 4th instead of 3rd!

I think unless there are a ton of surprises, we keep that #14 pick. Good chance one of Scherff, Waynes, or Parker are there and that's a value pick.
