if you had to would you trade our 4th rounder to trade up in the 2nd to get Kalil?

I would

I don't think I would like that trade. I'm not sure we have that big of need at center. I'm not even sure we could move up enough in the 2nd round by only trading the 4th round pick. If we could, and it would allow us to get a quality OT or OG (i.e Tony Ugoh or Ben Grubbs)

Kalil's a bit light for a Houck line. And I don't think we need C that badly.

I think there is a good chance we could get him at our original 2nd round pick without trading up. He is not too light for a Hudson Houck line.
Here are the centers who started on HH coached lines going back to when he arrived in Seattle in 1992.
1992: Joe Tofflemire 6-2 273 lbs
1993-1994: Mark Stepnoski 6-2 265 lbs
1995-1996: Ray Donaldson 6-3 300 lbs
1997-1998: Clay Shiver 6-2 290 lbs
1999-2001: Mark Stepnoski 6-2 265 lbs
2002-2003: Jason Ball 6-2 301 lbs
2004: Nick Hardwick 6-3 283 lbs as a rookie, though listed at 295 now
2005: Seth McKinney 6-3 310 lbs
2006: Rex Hadnot 6-2 325 lbs, by far the heaviest center HH has coached the past 13 or so years.
Ryan Kalil at 6-3 290 lbs, would look to me like his size would fit in well with the vast majority of centers who have started on HH lines since 1993

yeh ryan kalil looks lyk a future pro bowler with time.
i really would lyk us to get him even though c is not priority.
Otherwise pick up drew stanton

I would love him with our 2nd rounder, but definetly not worth trading up for imo.

Rex Hadnot and Seth Mckinney are a great center and backup center. We don't need to make any such desperate moves. Besides Samson Satele is one of the best Olineman in the draft and we can probably get him in the the third. He has experience everywhere on the line and is already extrordinarily
strong. With Houck perfecting his technique he could turn out to be stud lineman.

Most teams dont like to part with their 4th round pick exspecially when they have a high pick like us because it is like another quality pick and u have the whole night and the next morning to do some final evaluating and looking at people who have slid in the draft...
I dont think it would be smart for us to trade up for him... he may be there when we pick.

dont get rid of any more picks. we need to keep picks and pick up the best available at the time we draft. i would rather trade down and get more picks than trade up for a 2nd round pick

If some how we trade down or trade players to get more draft picks we could pick him up in the 2nd. Or we can wait to get Mozes in the 3rd or 4th.

I think there is more then enough good talent for us to take, there is reason to trade up with anyone for any specific player.

I want Brady Quinn, but if he does not fall to us, there is always Stanton...the same can be said for Center.
