We all know Detroit needs all the help they can get, from WR to Oline to ... Basically everything.

How about this idea (though may be a pipe dream, but here me out). Trade our #25 pick and #7 (#196) for their #33 pick (2nd Round) and their 1st Pick 3rd Round and a #2 for next year.

They can use the #25 to pick a WR to sid with Megatron, like a Hicks or Harvin who wont be there at number #33 (They addressed QB and OL/DL with their other 2 picks) and somewhat get back the pick they gave up to Dallas in the 7th rd only three picks later.

We could then (if this is our directive... CB) to draft at #33 Sean Smith CB, then Kenny Britt WR or DE/MBL M. Johnson at #44 and Coye Francis CB at #56.

And ... we get the 1st pick in the third round ( where we possibly can trade down again for more picks ... like last year) ... Detroit will still have a third from Dallas.... We will also get their number #2 for next year which is almost guaranteed to be in the top 10 (if that is to much get a third instead ... even though i think we can still get 2nd).

We all dont know how next year draft and collective bargaining agreement is going to effect teams so if i were them, let me get all my talent this year and let next year worry about itself.

They will get three immediate starters and we still get who we want without the price and future picks to help further develop this team

Opinions ... please ... also if they wont do it, then who would be interested

haha are you kidding me... a 25th pick and 7th rounder for...
the first pick in 2nd round, and next year, theyre first which will probably be anywhere from #5-20 (higher value than phins 25)
their 2nd and 3rd?

come on bro.. i wont even read the rest of this thread becuase it starts off so stupid..

you say its stupid, but offer nothing in return ... its an idea ... now if asking for a pick next year is to much, then that is understandable. Put come on now ...

How is #1 and #7 not worth a #2 and #3, especially in this draft (The 3rd pick could be the one from Dallas, if it matters)

Maybe you should do a little research on how trading draft picks work. There is a points system for each pick, they have to add up. call it simple math if you want.

Another factor you might want to think about is the amount of money that goes along with each pick, sure some teams might want to trade up, but it is going to cost them more with the guaranteed money they will have to offer that pick. The lions are already going to have to spend some money on their 2 first round picks.

Just trying to help, but if you understand how trades work, your idea wont come off so crazy sounding.

ya, mabey if we throw in john beck and jason allen we could get their first overall as well

The guy said trade our 1st and 7th for the lions 2nd and 3rd this yr and a 2nd next year,

Thats not that far fetched.
The Chargers traded two 1sts and two players to move up one spot in 1998

You could see something like that, Could be a bit differant, but it's not that far fetched as Jonnyh stated above. Of coarse it all depends how motivated the Lions are. In fact I could see something like this happening with any team that has several picks in rounds 2-3, but again it will depend if the team in question has the plan and motivation to pull the trigger or not.

Look at the trade value chart. Some people think it needs to be updated, some teams still use it as a rough guide, it was first created by Jimmy Johnson when he was with the Cowboys. See if it works, I did not have time and quite honestly I got confused with what you wer trying to achieve, but I haven't had any coffee yet, so it could be me.

so the lions need all the help they can get right? so they will give up a 2nd a 3rd and a 2nd next year to move up 8 spots? giving up draft picks will help the lions?
i have a better idea...why don't we trade ricky williams for the lions whole draft?
wonder why i don't spend much time on here!
