AJ Smith announced today that San Diego will look to trade Lorenzo Neal rather than release him (I know, I know). Lorenzo's role was and will be limited with Norv's system..however, having FB like Lorenzo will tremendously help not only the offensive line, but also Ronnie Brown.

The question now, what is a 37 year old FB worth?

after anouncing they are going to cut him which team will trade when they can pick him up in a few weeks.

sadly if cam would have been here i think he would have fetched atleast a 5th.

He has no trade value, and Miami already has a FB. Mauia is a solid blocking FB for us.

Shhhh...

I'm here on a mission....;-)
Their isn't anybody around here that has any influence what so ever. Bill would slap us for some of the stupidity and unwillingness to want improvement around here.

Neal is solid, but he's a little too old i'd say to be worth a trade. Plus he did break his leg, it's more risk than i'd want to take on a guy his age even if a broken leg isn't nearly as bad as a ligament tear or rupture or something.

I think if Cam was still around it might be worth taking a shot though.

usually when a team cuts a top tier FB out of the blue they aren't worth much -- we've learned this already the past couple off seasons when former pro-bowl washed up FB's came here and couldnt make our 1-15 and 6-10 teams. Regan is fine, let the kid develope, don't bring in some old guy who is just gonna ruin regan's confidence & developement

ok we have a good full back already who in turn needs playing time to learn more and improve. y waste a draft pic.....even if it is a fifth rounder for an old guy. hes going to be done in one or two seasons anyway. by that time mauia will be a beast of a full back....with the right amount of playing time. on top of that knowing the dolphins recent track record with full backs....last season we signed cory from detroit...what did that do for us. every one got hyped up and after preseason where was he......warming the couch in the free agency. the year before that we got fred beasley from san fran. once again everyone was hyped up about that and after preseason where was he. back in free agency. we should wait and if we can get him cheap maybe sign neal as a back up incase mauia gets injured. mauia could bennifit haveing a vet teach him the role but not as a started.....mauia needs to be our starter.

Along with Mauia if the Dolphins are smart they will also have this guy next year so forget about Neal. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/profile.php?pyid=73790

H-back extroidinaire.

Another guy who the Dolphins should pick up either in the 7th round or as a free agent is is Xavier Lee QB/WR/H-back.

With Kolo on the roster as a TE, and Xavier on as a WR, there would be no shortage of blocking H-backs and power runners.
