It seems odd that we would make the trade with the bears for Owens because he was a great blocker then cut him.It also seems odd one bad game would put Feeley in the dog house possibly on the way out.Is Saban being wishy washy maybe he is not really making the decisions maybe he gets to much input and cant make up his own mind up.I keep going back to the infield dirt shouldnt matter 2 weeks ago and after the atlanta game gives Gus a free pass.

I sure hope he knows what he is doing, being a season ticket holder from maryland gets awlful exspensive to watch a football coach make moves that seem to have no ryme or reason.

If wanny had done this we would have tried to railroad him out here myself included.

No sarcasim wanted just some inteligent responses

that trade was just to see if he could find something because Brendon o. wasn't going to make the team anyways.

I completely agree I dont understand trading for a player and then cutting him. Only couple things that make since to me is that maybe he had a bad attitude, or Saban just wanted the conditional pick.

what about lamar gordon, who we wasted for, then cut. The dude was worthless to this organization, and probably most other organizations. Talk about someone elses trash we overpaid for, the thought makes my head hurt, to say the least.

He got a conditional pick for a player that was going to get cut. That is good business. Nick needs time to get his players. Let's support him and the Fins and enjoy seeing them retooled under the Nicktator. We spend too much time worrying about the current QB situation. Time is needed until all positions, including QB, can be addressed. I would imagine that next offseason QB will be #1 priority. Let's just enjoy the start of a new regime...

He didnt see enough to impress him and was comfortable with the guys he kept. Also I have seen these type of trades before. They are usually moves designed to clear up contract provisions.(A player is sent to another team so that they cut them thus relieving them of some contractual obligation)

Then why didn't he trade Gordon to Philly? I don't buy the crap about them not offering enough. A second day draft pick for someone who is about to get cut is enough for me!

I do. Philly probably knew we were going to cut him and took a chance.

I would rather have something for the guy then to cut him and get nothing. A pick is a pick.
I absolutely agree FemaleFinFan, even if it's a 6th or 7th round pick, it's still better to get something that just plain out release the guy. I can't figure that one out unless Philadelphia retracted there offer, other than that it just doesn't make any sense why would we would give him up for nothing when it was reported that they were offering us SOMETHING.

Id much rather Saban not waste time with guys who arent making things happen.... The guy didnt work... but in the end we got a draft pick.. .which has some upside.

No point in keeping guys just because we traded for them... we obviously wasnt going to contribute. At least this also opens up a roster spot for a guy who may come in and play.

Good move Saban... Why waste time with guys you dont truly want. Or have to "develop" all season.
We wanted a coach that make dicsions and change the face of the organization. Sometimes there are difficult decisions to be made. This is an example of Saban saying he made a mistake... And quickly dealing with it. At least this time we didint get absolutely nothing ...we still have the pick.

Lamar Gordon was not traded because noone wanted him

Not enough to spend a 7th round pick on him.
