I know this wont go over very well but here goes. One can say that we will be rebuilding soon with the age of our team on the rise. Why dont we trade away ZT and JT for a bunch of middle round or even two or three high round picks and start rebuilding now with a new coach and by the looks of it an entire new staff.
 
No way. JT are you kidding me..
 
Because no one would give higher then a 3rd for a player pass the age of 32. and their more valuable to us on then field then they are 3rd rounders..
 
but if he retires we get nothing next year atleast a few middle round pics is better than one more season.
 
At this point in their careers I don't see any team trading for either of them because their on a year to year basis now. What the Dolphins need to do though, is find viable replacements for them in the draft so when the time comes for them to retire, they will have someone to plug in at those positions.
 
dont get me wrong i luv them both butthis is a bussiness and i think in terms of cap and age its time to move on.

the teams that would need them most, are either A) In our own division, so we wouldnt trade them to our own division opponents, or B) Terrible teams such as the browns or the cardinals. In which, JT and ZT would retire before playing for them.
 
not true denver ,phily or cinn would or could use them.jt will play no more than 3 years total, if lucky.get him to agree to a 3 year deal,and trade him for a first.this sucks,but needs to be done.if possible.
 
zach was among the leading tacklers the entire season and JT was the defensive player of the year, and you want to trade them for a coupl e picks late on day 1, i dont think we need to completely tear down, this should be a playoff team next year

I know he just won DPOY, but we would not get a first for him. Nothings gonna change the fact that hes gonna be 33 by the time the next season starts.
 
If you were to say Chris Chambers of Randy McMichael, then sure, I don't mind. But Jason Taylor? Are you kidding me? Do you know how much he means to our defense?
 
like i said i know this is a painful thing but both of those players would help our team in the long run if we traded them. they are 6 million each in cap space next year unless they redo their contracts. i know alot on emotion is tied up in them but it would help the team in long run.
