In 2+ years with the chargers, he's missed 8 games due to injury, and only had 68 receptions for 1000 yards over those first 2 years. To his credit, he did have 9 TDs in 2yrs.

this year he's doing even worse though, started 4 games and only has 6 catches for 69 yds. And this is with Rivers at QB... right now even Greg Camarillo is making him look bad with 14 for 119, Ted ginn with 16 for 195 etc

And we got a 2'nd round pick for him when the chargers thought they were a WR away from winning the SB..... a now 31 year old receiver that seems to be more and more on the decline.

The one good move by cam cameron and staff

wow...i never thought of that but i always look at the negative side of cam. Good call by Cam.

I think another good thing by Cam was going 1-15 with our team, thus securing us Tony Sparano and Jake Long.

One thing he did that I think is often overlooked is cut a huge number of older underachievers, clearing the way for the Parcells rebuilding project. Those moves murdered us in 2007, but they were good for us in the long run.

Also he passed on Quinn.

amen for passing on quinn, i think now with a strong arm qb that ginn pick is looking good

I think Cam did one other thing that was good for us. He put Ronnie back on kick returns, helping him see holes and hit them faster when he was in at RB. I actually think that helped Ronnie see the holes more clearly.

i always liked chambers it kinda sad to see him sink on the chargers. I think he is still thier #2 though.

I still remember Cam's first draft, I was at work, just about the time we were getting ready to take our first pick, it was my break time, so I headed downstairs to smoke a cigarette. While walking to the elevator, I was thinking "I am getting a Quinn jersey" Long story short, when I got back I was very surprised to see we took Ginn.
In hindsight, Beck has been much debated on this board, but it is better to have wasted a second round pick and less cap space on a qb that is no longer with the team, then be tied into a top ten contract for a qb. I know this boards issues with Ginn, I still think he is the better pick between him and Quinn. Of course who knows what could have been, if Quinn had gone to a good team, not suggesting he would have been better with us, but Cleveland? C'mon Man!

Chambers = MONUMENTAL fraud. Unfortunately we haven't been able to replace his limited productivity.

I think you may be jumping the gun here. Look at wha elase Rivers has to throw to there. Jackson and Gates are his primary targets there, which takes away from Chambers. If Chambers were still in Miami those numbers would be much higher!

He also signed an undrafted and unheralded FA he was familiar with from SD, Greg Camarillo who, aside from that merciful TD catch, hasn't done too badly for us since. So props for that too.

And Cam excelled at "failing forward fast" and that got him the heck outta here...

I still kind of chuckle at a lot of the folks who said: "Chanbers will realize his number one WR potential with Phillip Rivers."

Chambers was overrated by a lot of folks in Miami. Chambers is a number one on a decent/bad team. On a team that has the kind of talent the Chargers have, he's your fourth or fifth best receiver. That is right where he belongs.

and the pick we got for chambers was used to draft henne..

With all this being said, I see where everyone is coming from and I am glad the way things worked out...I just loved Chambers...that TD against Buffalo was awesome! I still have his jersey...I wish him the best but he gets no looks in SD.
