The Miami Dolphins frustrated by the selections made ahead of them in the 1st round are faced with selecting either Adrian Peterson or Amobi Okoye as BPA. Seeing as how they have 8 DT's on their roster and another DT in limbo, and how they have two good RB's already; they accept a trade offer from the Cleveland Browns.

Cleveland offers their 2nd,3rd,4th and 5th round choices for the #9 pick, CB Andre Goodman and two 7th round picks.

Cleveland gets what they wanted, Brady Quinn and Adrian Peterson and a quality CB. Miami gets these picks: #36,#40,#60,#67,#71,#103,#108,#140,#181,#199,#219

No team is going to give up nearly an entire draft to another team. Cleveland has about as many holes as swiss cheese, and while it would be a great Madden trade it's about as realistic as me entering next season as the starting QB of the Colts.

No. If Cleveland wants the number nine pick, it costs them a second and third this year and a first and third next year. Esp if its Peterson. Hes a top five rated player. To get that kind of value and number 9, they have to pay and pay dearly.

I'm not understanding, how can Cleveland get Peterson and Quinn?

EDIT: I read it wrong, I thought they were giving Miami their 3rd overall pick. Anyway, this will not happen.

Actually if you check the chart it's the Dolphins who would be giving up around 400 points and a player. If it's a crazy trade, it's crazy for the Dolphins, definitely not the Browns.

This is a scenario that I very much hope Randy Mueller is taking account of. In his most recent article he mentions trying to talk about every scenario so that it doesn't come as a surprise on draft day. This falls as one of those scenarios that I would deem there to be a decent chance of playing out.

Fact of the matter is, if Oakland takes Russell, then Cleveland is picking between Quinn and Peterson. If they pick Quinn, and Peterson falls all the way to #9 (another big IF) then Miami could take Peterson and send up a trade.

The question is how much would we have to give. Probably a lot. That would hurt.

Not true. Else, why didn't San Diego just take Rivers at #1 overall, since that was who they wanted and Eli Manning made it clear he did not want to go to the Chargers?

Fact of the matter is just because Cleveland ends up preferring Quinn to Peterson, that doesn't mean they'd still prefer Quinn to Peterson if getting Peterson meant ALSO picking up the #40 and #71 overall picks in the draft.

It is a very real possibility.

As much as I want a franchise QB, I am really adverse to trading up and losing more than 1 pick. Trading to 6 for 60 is imo ok, but I wouldn't go any further than that :)

Thats like $30million in signing bonuses for those two top 10 picks. Unlikely to happen, I can see Cleveland taking Quinn and Kalil in the second if he falls.
