Out of curiousity if we do trade down , who is your target? Not after how many picks you think we can get. I just want to know "who" or what "position" you would target.


If we stay My picks would be

1. Chris Long
2. Dorsey


Trade down and my targets would be

1. Jeff Otah
2. Ryan Clady
 
we could trade our first for the cowboys 2 first and a second and then i would probly get Aqib Talib with the First pick and with the second first round maybe Jeff Otah or Ryan Clady with the second first round pick
 
No. I dont want to know who you want to trade down with , I dont want to know how many picks you think we can get.

I just want to know that if we did trade down , who is your guy, or what position you would target.


Who is your second best guy?
 
Clady. If he's gone and McFadden's still there (see Adrian Peterson), I think hard about him because he might simply be too good to pass at some point. Gholston I like as well. Apart from those three, I might just rather go with Chris Long or Dorsey and the #1. We do need quantity virtually everwhere, but when it comes to top notch talent I'd rather have one great player than two good ones.

Thanks , that right about what I wanted to know.wasn't really after a pick number though , just who you think would be worth trading down to get the most.Both of us seem to think Otah / Clady are good consolution prizes :)

I am not looking for trades or deals. Just want to get one name that you would be willing to trade down and get. More than one name if itsd a position.


Example:

Goodel says we can have anyone we want except Chris Long , Dorsey ,McFadden. So I think about it and decide if I cant have them then I want a LT , so I would trade down with Otah or Clady as my targets.

In other words I want Chris Long but would settle for Otah or Clady

Depends how far we trade down. Dropping back only a handful of picks, 3-4? Gholston or Jake Long. I see Long starting to get passed over on this site, and Im not buying it. Guys a monster and a mauler. Gave up one sack all year I think (to Gholston no less) and is a destroyer in run blocking. Come on, guys a top 5 pick people, and RT be damned.
If we drop down around pick 10ish? Kenny Phillips maybe, Aquid Talib is rising fast. Long if he is somehow still there, Clady if not. Matt Ryan is a possibility if he starts to fall and we have dropped down.
Into the mid teens? Maybe a LB like Connor or Rivers, still Talib or Jenkins at CB. Derrick harvey DE.
Lots to choose from. Personally though, while I wouldnt mind a trade down, I think anything below #10 and we start to really lose out. We need premium players, and the best spot to get them is with the first few picks. While it wouldnt hurt us to move down to #4 and pick up a 3rd rounder for instance, I wouldnt drop down to far unless we are getting a big big deal.
We have lots of holes yes, but it will do nothing if we cant plug them with premium talent.

I like Clady and Otah as well. My outlook on the first round is that the first 10 or so is defense packed while the back half of the first round is offensively loaded. I'm a HUGE Fred Davis advocate, I desperately want him in aqua and orange next year.

I usually don't bother with these types of threads because 99.9% of the time it doesn't happen, but your Gholston/Hall idea got me salivating!!! Clearly wont happen bc Hall is a cancer, but man that would be alot of talent. I think Gholston could turn out to be the best player in this draft.

I disagree with the Hall is a cancer statement. Hes obviously opinionated, but before this season I dont remember him being cancerous, and then, to be fair, Petrino turned out to be a scumbag completely vindicating Halls comments and actions toward him.

It was something that had about a 90% chance of happening back in November but now it has about a 1% chance of happening. In November, the Falcons still had Petrino who Hall absolutely despised. Also, Hall had familiarty with our defensive backs coach who was fired when Parcells came in and axed everyone. This would be the Falcons chance to get a McFadden and us to get Hall (who they would've wanted to unload any how) and draft Gholston. Oh well, would've been a nice scenario.

i would eather go witht he Detroit or Cincy one that would be awsome to have a really good WR
