What if we packaged Ricky or Culpepper with our first and one of our seconds to trade with Oakland, Detroit, Cleveland, or Tampa Bay? That would put us in good position to get one of the following...

JaMarcus Russell
Calvin Johnson
Gaines Adams
Joe Thomas

Id be happy with any of them, and Id be all up for that.
thoughts?

You'd have to probably give more. Neither Ricky or Culpepper have much value.

Trading up to the #4 spot with Tampa Bay won't cost that much (#9 & #40) and I would only do that for Calvin Johnson who is perhaps one of the best prospects in the past 10 years, Joe Thomas who could solidify our LT position for the next decade and Brady Quinn who Cam Cameron seems to like a lot.

Why would Tampa trade down when they want to trade up.? They covet Calvin Johnson. If he's there, I doubt they would trade their pick for our 1st, #40, RW, and DC. They have two 2nd round picks already. They also are stocked at quarterback.

Because it was reported after the Combine that Grunden liked Okoye and by trading down to #9, Tampa Bay could get him there and still pick up another draft choice. With two 2nd round picks already, they could do the unthinkable and ask for that pick to be in next year's draft.

Well the last time Gruden really liked a player (Cadillac Williams) he drafted him.

If Calvin Johnson or Joe Thomas is there at #4 and Tampa Bay still wants to trade down with us, do we take them up on that offer?

Trading up into the top 5 would likely require a pick next year as well as a player and some picks this year...do you really want to give up that much with all our needs ????

Trading up to the #4 or #5 spots will not require a pick next year as our #40 pick will be more than enough compensation. Trading into the Top 3, now that's another story.

i have written many post lately on how stupid trading-picks-for-unprove-players-is...This draft is deep...We are going to have to oppurtunity to draft a good player at #9...So why trade extra picks???

Gruden will go offense unless the 2 Qb's and Thomas are gone.
