Trading WR Talk?

Its not unlikely, its completly ridiculous....

Would you trade Ronnie Brown to the Browns for Antonio Bryant and a 4th?

WTF does that have to do with anything? Do the Browns desperately needs an RB? Do we desperately need a WR? Players values suddenly plunge up and down when teams are in need. Remember us getting Feeley and Gordon for a 2nd and 3rd. Both those players probably won't even be Dolphins next year.

Well with all this talk of trading a receiver to the Eagles, why don't we make a deal with Atlanta?

The go big or go home kind. We could offer something like Booker and a 4th (conditional 3rd) for DeAngelo Hall. Something along those lines. I think Atlanta will be more desperate than Philly.

Why on God'S green Earth would Atlanta trade their best corner?:shakeno:

Geez!!

Jamar Fletcher is my boy. Damn I'd like to have him back in town.
We went to school together. And Day-um did YOU fans shred him. He is damn
solid in San Diego now...

I always loved J.Fletch. Thought he had a hell of alot of potential.

Geez!!

Why would Miami offer a 2nd pick for a QB who may be cut in the near future?

Why would the Vikings release the best WR in the NFL when they have all the room in the world to keep him?

Why would Andy Reid tell the second best WR in the league to leave?

Why would the 49ers offer the largest rookie contract ever to Alex Smith?

The list goes on for the last two years alone...

This statement is shear ignorance as well. The fact that I am 15 has no bearing on my football knowledge. Bigger things have happened than this... why is it so unlikely?
Woo! Well excuse me for being nice Mr 4evaFinz lol. I was trying to be nice even though the idea is.......well like someone else already mentioned. You dont trade your up and coming 1st round pick in their 2nd year! Let alone the proposed deal.

LOL, ignorance is a bliss. It is simple algebra my friend.

We have lots of GOOD WRs.

We have very few GOOD DBs.

We make trade to balance the talent.

How is this logic in any way stupid? What makes any suggestion that comes from your mouth any better? Of course my first post was a low offer for D.Hall. But you have to low ball in the trade world. I think it is apparent we need a player like that. Then with Chambers, McMike, Boston, Booker, Thompson, Gilmore, Welker, etc. we can afford to give up a receiver. Then as far as the pick goes it is a no brainer for a guy like Hall. So what is so stupid about it? What is so stupid about the other suggestion of trades to Philly? They are unlikely? Or you just odn't like them? If your going to ramble on about how these ideas are so stupid, explain, that is the least you can provide...

You want my explanation kid, okay, here it is. I was going to let it roll off my back like the previous poster said:

It's stupid because no GM, not even Rick Speilman, is stupid enough to make that trade. I'm not arguing our needs or surpluses. I'm arguing that this post has no substance because it talks about a trade that could/would never happen. Your talking about trading a WR, who, when we traded for him, was valued appropriately at 4th rounder. Since that trade, his trade value is at best a 4th, maybe a high 5th. Now your point of throwing in a 4th rounder is admirable, but still worth not much. You think any GM, especially one like Rick McKay (very well respected, built the SB champ Bucs) is going to take the value of 2 4th rounders, for a early first round stud? What is the incentive?
None, therefore, you're idea = stupid.

This thread examplifies the reason the VIP section was created.

Thank you for bestowing your great presence upon me. I apologize everyone for making a suggestion that would help our team. I must crawl back underneath my rock into the world where the big trades happen. I only wish I could be so uber-special to become a VIP member. I am incapable... :shakeno:

Wonderful! Like I said the idea was a low-baller. To begin some discussion. How about we offer them Brown, Chambers, Ricky, and our 1st round pick for the next ten years to begin trade discussion...

how many WRs on the falcans roster were aquired by 1st round draft picks?
they are NOT hurting for an old "slowing" WR with only a few years left.

EDIT: heres a nice answer: 3
P. Price: traded a 1st rounder to the bills for price. bills drafted W. McGahee 21st overall in the 2003 draft
M. Jenkins: drafted 29th overall in the 2004 draft
R.White: drafted 27th overall in 2005 draft

Wow, your naivety is the list that is growing, not the above list.

1) Miami overpaid for a QB, because of Potential: QB's are the most highly coveted position in football, finding the diamond in the rough for a 2nd round pick is not that bad, unless he becomes your 2nd stringer.

2) THe Vikings didn't release the best WR in the NFL (shows what little you know) they traded him to get rid of a huge head case and got a quality LB and a stud rookie WR.

3) Same goes for Reid, the Eagles were good before T.O., he's an arse, and isn't worth the headache and disruption to the team.

4) the 49ers overpaid for Alex Smith, but rookie contracts go up every year, it's called a business. If a QB was drafted #1 every year, then the contract would be record breaking every year.

you're giving me a headache

So you are football knowledgeable huh? Did you determine the cap ramifications to both teams if your trade scenario were to happen prior to your post? Probably not. So you don;t know if it's even feasible to do based on that alone..... try to research a litle more before coming up with trade scenarios.... Not bashing you, just trying to help.

I must request this post be locked or something. There is no discusison here, a point has been proven, one I wasn't looking for. Rather than offer a more realistic deal, or offer an explaination as to why the deal seems unlikely people just jump on their big bandwagon and bash anyone with an idea other than "Let's wait out the camp and see our players develop" (which I support entirely). Thanks for you wonderful discussions ladies and gentlemen.
