I respect that Kevin O'Neill has been with the organization darn near 20 years. He came with Jimmy. I am not sure how much involvement he had with the doctors who scewed up the Drew Brees mishap, I would suppose not much of a trainer issue there. And I am sure he is traumatized by losing his job. We all would be. It's awful. And he's being scapegoated to some extent. So, I feel bad for O'Neill to a degree.
Having said all that, good, now you vented. Feel better, O'Neill? Now, take it like a man. O'Neill does not seem to deny laughing at inappropriate material. These young dufus football players look up to a medically trained "grown up." He could have done better. More significantly, O'Neill was "hostile" to the investigation. To paraphrase Jonny Cougar, he fought authority, and authority always wins. O'Neil could have gone to Ross, identified ethical dilemmas and worked around them forthrighfully. He could have explained this instead of being hostile. As best as we know, he never did that. So, O'Neill is not exactly clean. And you know what, there are consequences. You want to be hostile as a principle. Fine. take your medicine now. There are consequences. At this point, he vented, and fine. But enough is enough.
O'Neill is well regarded in his training abilities. He can get another job. He won't starve. Don't go away mad. Just go away, O'Neill. Even for O'Neill's own well being, he needs to put this behind him and move on.
