Training camp report 8-2-05

Has he always been this bad? I don't recall him being a great tackle but almost every report I've been reading he's been a human turnstyle.

McKinney? He's never played tackle.

Our starting o-line will look like this come opening day:

LT: Vernon Carey
LG: Jeno James
C: Rex Hadnot
RG: John St. Clair
RT: Stockar McDougle

With Hud coaching them, that ain't half bad.

Chambers made some nice grabs, McMike made a really nice grab for a td over someone, Feely kinda pushed the ball but still not too bad. He did look pretty good today. Gus was ok, nothing special. It was Gilmore who had a good day, he dropped one TD where he kinda layed out to stay inbounds. He burnt Roundtree twice though. I didn't see Boston running any rounts, I could have just missed him but even if so, he wasn't in there much. The new punter is good, he's got a leg, but he was out-punted by Turk today. Turk was really punting well and had better hangtime. That kid is strong, but not as consistent. Was kinda fun watching Mare field punts lol Was really impressice watching Wes Welker catch punts while juggling a ball in his hands. Then seeing him and Booker both catch a punt with 2 balls in thier hands. Welker just made it look so so easy. He had some nice looking returns as well. Carey looked good, I saw him bury #95, not sure who 95 is though. That was my first practice, was pretty cool, gonna have to go another time. Would be nice to see Ronnie there though :(

Ya, he was basically just terrible last year which is why most people wanted us to look long and hard at center during the draft.

McKinney, couldn't slow anyone down if you gave him police riot gear and allowed him to beat everyone with the baton. This guy cant take on tackles with any type of move, and then he cant stop a bull rush. He is usually in the backfield faster than the QB. On top of that his @zz sweats something TERRIBLE. Imagine taking a snap and getting a wet ball...... :shakeno:

Well, it was hot and humid, felt like a steam room out there :( Darth Saban was all over the place, he was working a lot with the offense. Here's what I remember the most:

WR's -- Feeley hooked up with Chambers I think a couple of times for TD's. Chambers is a stud, nuff said. Wes Welker scored another long TD through the middle, this guy is a gem considering we found him in the scrap pile. another WR looked great too, I think it was gilmore. McMichael made a really nice play for a TD. I think Donald Lee had another easy drop.

QB's -- Feeley looked sharp today, at least from what I saw. made a couple of nice TD's and seems to have good chemistry with Chambers. Sage was OK, he had a nice TD. Don't remember much from Frerotte, I know he was doing the hand off's in the running drills. Brock... :sigh: :baghead: moving on

OL -- well, McKinney seems to enjoy playing the role of tackling dummy. Him and Taylor Whimpy are a serious weakness in this team. In the one on one drills Mckinney gets pushed back 5 yards in the blink of an eye, in the run drills there is absolutely no push in the middle. Mckinney really hurts our running game, although Ricky seemed to turn a 2 yard loss into a 4 or 6 yard gain, he's a man among boys. someone blew past Taylor Whimpy like if he was one of the practice cones :shakeno: McDougle looks good, he whored Matt Roth and took him completly out of the play, nasty... the only thing I can say about Vernon Carey is that you somehow forget his there, I think we may be set at LT :hi5:

Punter - the new guy looks great! long punts with very good hightimes. He must be part of Darth Saban's :vader: master plan of ball control. I think this guy is going to give Turk a realy battle.

Well, those are my highlights, hope every one enjoys.

GO DOLPHINS!!! :beerbang:
Thanks!

#95 would be Josh Shaw, whom we've heard positive things about in some of the earlier camp reports
