I'm going to do something alittle different tonight, and skip some of the action that isn't worthy of reporting. A lot of the early parts of the practice sessions are full of short, easy drills, and they conduct these same drills every day they come out to practice. It's kind of a waste of time for me to report that stuff considering it's the same every time...

So, onto the meat and potatoe's of the day shall we??..

The first thing that stood out today was when they lined-up in the WC offense and attempted a few deep passes. Pennington overthrew Ricky deep down the left side, and when Henne got hus turn, he made it count hitting his pass. There wasn't any coverage to speak of, but since we don't see them in the WC very much at camp {3 or 4 plays a report}, I thought it was worth noting...

The QB's / WR's then start working together. Here, they send 3 WR's out on different routes, and each QB has one he has to hit. I didn't get every single pass / catch on record, but for the most part everyone looked really good. The QB's were all on target here, and I didn't see any drop's. At the very end of this drill, Henne hit Turner deep for about 40 yards...

There was something different that happened in today's session that I have yet to see. They had Pennington / White running 7-7 run drills, and Henne working with some of the WR's / DB's on the opposite side of the field. It wasn't a very long drill, but it was good one to watch Henne to get some extra time throwing against coverage. He threw a great bomb that was complete to Turner for a TD, and finished that drill very strong...

At this time, the OL goes off to start working alone. I see Taylor and Porter working together on pass rush tech, they're just working on spin moves ect ect...

CP - Playaction, throws left, complete to TE for about 6-7...
CP - BOMB!! Complete for a TD. It was about a 30 yard pass, and it looked like it was Turner who caught it, I couldn't tell for sure, but what a play!!...
CP - Quick pass right side, complete for about 4-5...
CP - Throws down the right sideline complete for about 8....

----------------------------
PW - Looks left, throws right, 10yrd complete at the sticks. Nice throw...
PW - Nobody open, throw away...
PW - Over the middle 7yrds, overthrown, incomplete...
PW - Throws left side 10yrds, complete, but the WR came back for it, wasn't the best looking throw....

PW - Shotgun, steps up, throws right, dropped 7yrd pass....

That was the end of what was a very hot day today. It was a productive day though, and I walked away very satisfied in today's session. The offense looked much better today, and from my chair, I think this was the best day of practice they've had thus far. I think they're coming along nicely...

On a sidenote, I'm not going to be reporting tomorrow. Sorry, but I have an important appointment I have to keep. I'll be back on Friday though. Until then, hope you enjoyed it, today was really a good day of practice!!

PHINZ RULE!!!

~BK~

Thank you BK. I'm sure that there are hundreds of others like me that never post, but live for the updates that you provide.

Wow from the sounds of it Henne had a great day. Also looks like the WRs are makin a lot of plays. Great stuff! Thanks!

Thanks Blitz!

Keep'em coming.

I gotta tell ya, these kids at WR have me much more excited for the potential at that spot than I've been in a long time.

Thank you for the solid reporting good stuff for those of us who cannot attend.
Sounds like Henne is throwing a good ball and Turner is getting some good looks as well. I like it when the young guys make the Vets work harder. Man I wish I could be there.

Bk: Thanks man. you are the Man! The Dophin beat writers can't touch what you do. They are too busy stroking themselves. You take us there.

Seriously can't wait for Henne to hit the field. IMO, he will open the offense in a way that hasn't been done since Marino. Penny will do his job of ball control. But imo, will always limit this offense since he's been a limited qb his whole career.

Thanks brother. I like seeing the word "laser" describing Henne's throws.

thank you for all of the reporting! reading all of this is getting me pumped about henne, as well as the season in general.

its good to hear all these "bombs" happening in training camp but at the same time doesnt it mean where getting beat badly in the secondary? do these drill feature ss/fs at all?

Thanks BK...it amazes me how guys who get piad to do this just say this guy looked good or this guy looked bad, yet your able to give us an actual description of what really happens on plays....you're the man!

Good point, are Henne and CP throwing against the same players in the secondary, or is it first and 2nd teams?

This man love for Henne is hilarious...and many here still dont want to give Penny his due. Penny is throwing the ball much better than I have seen him in a long time, and I have watched Penny since 02, unfortunately living in a Jets dominated household, I know its hard, but I loved it last year!!!
