Good write up. Who will start at right guard ? Will Martin beat out Murtha at RT ? Is big Jake back to full health ?

I would like to see all these big boys in action but we only need the best of the best from this group.

Who starts at right guard ? That's the biggest question mark.

I have this overriding feeling that Miami will likely let Big Jake go next season. He wants too much money, and we are simply not going to require the services of a top tier LT who is healthy 75% of the time. Kick Martin to the LT position where he is more comfortable, go after another tackle prospect for the RT position depth (while allowing Murtha to start RT, and let Garner bring up the depth along the interior) Hicks is going to be our RG.

I also think Jerry is gone. What a waste. He was the pick that Parcells liked more than Jimmy Graham, even though he admitted to loving Jimmy Graham but refusing to spend more than a 4th on a project player.

I think Jake is finally healthy and will have a good year. As far as Jerry it's now or never. I think never and he gone next year.

Wait, Sparano will convince Rex Ryan and Tannenbaum that Jerry is a future star for their O-line. John Jerry is very big.
Thx for sharing Parcells comment re Jimmy Graham. Understanding the real value of talented players had passed him. Big Tuna had no qualms about investing a 2nd round pick on Philip Merling or a 3rd round pick on Patrick Turner (not to mention Pat White), but he had convulsions at spending more than a 4th on Graham.

God do I hope you are right. If Jake plays this entire season, injury free, then I think he gets his big contract. Another injury though, and he's gotta be out of here.

100% agreement on Jerry. It's the same damn thing every year. He flashes something, then he just looks mediocre.

If you have some free time, watch "NFL Draft Confidential" with Bill Parcells. He says exactly this, and as a former Dolphins fan it will really piss you off simply because he says "Well, sometimes you're flat out wrong by stick with your system, like I was with Jimmy Graham and refusing to spend more than a 4th round pick on a project player, but that can't deter you"

I so glad Tuna is gone. He set us back many years with his draft philosophy "bigger is better"

TunA wanted bigger Oline ; the mirror image of himself

Next year we have tons of money to spend and I think alot of people think in terms of how it will cost us. He already costs us! its just a horizontal move to lock him up.

Is there no loyalty anymore?

No need for a stud LT cus of WCO? What? All I know is Jake is a stud and a Miami Dolphin. Why on earth would you want to see him go to another team? He wont cost us much more than he already does. Its horizontal. Thats why he just said today he is not concerned about the contract. He is busy working. He doesnt care about it. He cares about winning. LT's do not grow on trees. The Buffalo Bills are about to find that out!!!!

Jake wants $12.5 million a year for 5 years. That's a ridiculous contract for a guy like that when you can simply get a slight drop off for literally 1/6th of the cost and you don't have all this money locked up in a guy who simply can't stay healthy? It happens at the position, and you simply do not require a stud LT in today's elite offenses.

I love Big Jake. He's the quintessential profession. Gets the job done day in and day out (except for injury) but I love the Dolphins more man. I just can't help but look at this team and think "is there a better way to spend that money elsewhere?" If he was healthy year in year out, I'm likely siding with keeping him. But he's not.

Can't see why they would not keep JL... rare player....

This is a system based OL scheme... it's not for everyone... it will take some time to find the right players... and once found it will take more time for them to work as a unit..... if they stay healthy... I expect them to be the most improved unit... they had better be.... everyone loves to talk about the QB's... but if the boys up front don't get it done.... long season!
