I like your enthusiasm. We probably should be a little cautious about the Super Bowl talk this year. Last year, Sports Illustrated said we might be in the Super Bowl and you saw what happened. Who knows though. I think we have a good shot at the playoffs. Never can tell what could happen from there.

You saw what happened with the Steelers in 2005. Nobody thought they were big contenders then. Joey Porter knows ... he was on that team and he played great for them. That's the thing I really like about having Joey on the team. He's actually "been there and done that". He probably knows how to get the team focused on the right things and he can keep everyone fired up even if things aren't looking so good in a particular game. I'm hoping he brings some of that Steeler Nation toughness and "never say die" attitude when the going gets rough.

And it probably will be plenty rough this year ... just in the AFC East alone. The Patriots look pretty darned formidable this year. I hope Joey becomes Tom Brady's worst nightmare. Actually, Tom will have two nightmares to keep him awake at night now. He's already had Jason Taylor haunting him for years now. I'm sure Lawrence Maroney is not looking forward to being tackled by Joey and our other linebackers this year. Maroney better get bigger shoulder pads for his shoulder that I hear he's having problems with. :chuckle:

You bring up the key guy to me in the Pats failing IMO. Maroney. First off, I dont think he is all that. second, he is not the kind of guy that can carry the load all season. that is why the Pats will be more a passing team this year for sure. That plays into our hands. Maroney gets hurt, its all over IMO. Sammy is good for a couple of games, but thats it.

Wow, you're really that down on Maroney huh?

I would like to believe you're on to something but the guy seemed very tough and explosive to me last year. If he builds on what he accomplished last year I don't see why he can't be a very strong starting RB, if not better.

I will hope you are correct though cause I'm sick of seeing everything turn up roses for the Patsies.

They might be passing more also due to the fact that they have the best WR Depth from starter to could be a starter on most teams, but just happens to be the #3 or #4 on their team.

I am concerned about Maroney rushing and catching. Let's face it until they stop going to the playoffs...they are much better than most teams.

I think Miami has the talent to win now. But I do not know if they have the right staff to mesh them all together. Time will tell......

GO PHINS!!!
