Training Camp Today...

Nobodys making excuses. They just understand professional football. By your standards..anyone could be a NFL QB as long as they completed passes. Get real. Maybe a reciever ran the incorrect route. Maybe the QB coach was working on a different drop back...or making him hit his hotreads...or who the hell knows...so lets just wait until weve had more than 2 practices..OK?

that actually is another good point. People on the side see a throw behind a reciever, it is automatically the quarterback's fault. There are many factors to go into such a situation. Not saying that it is not the quarterback's fault, it is just that you need to take what the training camp people's report with a grain of salt. I love them but they can't be taken as gospel.

Can someone please tell me how long we have been saying "it's only been X amount of time"

According to my math, it's been about 5 years..since Jay Fiedler took over the helm and was doing the same damn thing with Huard.

I'll relax guys, I'm sure it will just take a few hundred more hours of practicing how to see a man is not close to the man you are throwing to, and how to plant your feet and throw a ball. I'm sure by week 1 we are all going to feel OK with who our starting QB is. After all, these guys are professionals...it is extremely tough competition and these guys aren't that seasoned at playing in the NFL and only faced bad-to-average talent their whole college careers so far.

I see where I am completely wrong and should accept they only need another 2 weeks to get back to knowing what to do and being good at it.

Very True, it's Practice, not a game. If you need to try something new or experiment, it's in practice. The only thing is Feeley has always had a rep for having balls tipped. It's clear that Frerotte is Linehan's type of guy. I read something on him yesterday where it said he was smart, didn't make the big mistakes, and could hit the deep ball when needed. I remember he filled in the Daunte last year or the year before, and he hit an absolute bomb to Randy Moss, he does have a nice long ball.

Will you people please stop making excuses!!! My Lord, these are NFL players...professionals....you should be able to complete passes with no pressure on you in practice if you are worth a damn. Didn't anyone ever play sandlot football?? If yu were any good at throwing you could complete a majority of your passes couldn't you???

Calm down there skippy.
I could care less who starts at QB. I don't make excuses for anyone. Just stating the obvious... Offenses taking longer to gel (especially w/ a new OC) is common knowledge. I'm sure more than a few pro's would spit at your sandlot comparison, especially the one's on our D.

I just returned from practice as well, and i was especially pleased with what i saw from Matt Roth. Although, watching him tear up Vernon Carey was a little disturbing. I'm not sure if he is that good or if Vernon is that slow.

OK, now this is weird. How the hell can Vernon Carey hold his own against JT but get ripped by Matt Roth???

Im also heard Vernon held his own against JT. But Roth took it to him today thats for sure

It's very distrubing to see Gus and AJ constantly going back and forth as to who sucks. I think the QB position is going to be the downfall of the team this year, otherwise we could compete solidly.

Next offseason priority NUMERO UNO is QB..bar none.

Our offensive line is what needs tending to. It's no secret that defenses are well ahead of offenses this early in camp. I wouldn't read too much into how the qb play is going. The one thing we dont know about seeming bad passes are was it the qbs fault or did a wr run the wrong route. keep in mind this is the second day of camp, and brand new offense. I would be surprised if we looked crisp. Be patient.
