In an interview on ESPN radio yesterday, Edwards was asked which teams had shown interest in him. He said he had visited with the Raiders and that the Dolphins had came to visit with him.

Trent Edwards is a guy I really wish I'd see more of. I read where he was injuried and played behind Stanford rather inept Oline.

Wish I'd seen more tape.

He has the intelligence and intangibles that Cam likes. He would be worth taking a good look at.

no trent green please and if quinn is gone so be it ..this is the guy i want..real bad..has potential to be a good 1 and i love to have him evne proble more then stanton a little

Yeah, if we miss out on Quinn take Edwards. He would be a special QB under Cam.

he said trent edwards not green

John Beck also as the qualities cam likes I'm glad to see we are leaving no stone unturned at the qb position. I think Mueller and cam will eventually bring in a franchise Qb that we have been waiting for since Marion retired.

I would be happy with either Quinn, Stanton, Beck, or Edwards. Just bring one of them to Miami!!

As a graduate of Washington State, I've seen plenty of Trent Edwards (more than I would have liked). He lit up my Cougs junior season, completing 60% of his passes for 257 yards passing with 3 TD's, no INT's, and he rushed for an additional 92 yards. That year he threw 17 touchdowns and 7 picks and had about a 60% completion rate that whole season, in fact in 2 games (Arizona St. and UCLA) he threw for over 70%. He came into his senior season with a lot of hype, but had a pretty rough year (still though, he had a pretty good completion percentage). As it's already mentioned, he took a lot of sacks last season (7 in one game by my Cougs), and his supporting cast was just god aweful. I know one of the reasons he had a bad year was because the Stanford coaching staff wanted him to show more patience in the pocket, not really allowing him to take off like he had done in the past. No doubt this guy has the skills set. He's got a cannon, and likes to zip his passes on the short to intermediate routes. He can get himself out of trouble when the pocket collapses, and he is a smart player (he did play for Stanford after all). In short, I'm not surprised at all that this guy is getting a lot of attention from the scouts, and with the right kind of coaching could become a steal in the later rounds.

I'm not a big fan of Edwards considering his proneness to injury and seeing him play against UCLA really reminded me of Joey Harrington bad performances here. He's a guy I wouldn't spend anything more than a 4th or maybe 6th rounder on since it will take time and effort to cure his "happy feet". His value is unjustifiably inflated due to the weak QB class in the non-1st round categories. And I don't buy into the "oh, he went to Stanford so he must be smart" deal. If that were true, we may as well sign Ryan Fitzpatrick of Harvard.

Well said. Any one of those guys would be a very good QB prospect for Coach Cameron to groom.
I agree, that with great coaching many of these QBs could be our answer.
Like the rock group Poison(one of my favorites) sang, Give me something to believe in.
