Chiefs QB Green could be closer to joining Dolphins: South Florida Sun-Sentinel .... we have upped their offer for trent green from a sixth
It has been reported over and over again that June 1st does not mean anything to this deal happening or not happening. The cutoff date would be the date right before the first game of the season for it to count against the cap this season.(Unless you are referring to Green attending thier OTA on Monday)Bleh, wait 2 weeks and get him for free. Why are we upping the offer? The longer this goes on the less advantage we gain in a trade since he'll be cut before the end of the month anyways.
True but the longer the Chiefs wait the more likely Miami will pull the trade offer from the table. It has been reported over and over again that June 1st does not mean anything to this deal happening or not happening. I totally agree...will get to a point that Miami will just walk away.True but the longer the Chiefs wait the more likely Miami will pull the trade offer from the table.

I believe you may be right but I have also read that all these contracts now have altered dates as to when the money on a contract officially goes on the books to allow teams and players more time to avoid the "big" cut day that June 1st used to be.I'm not sure, but I think the significance of June 1 is what year the cap hit goes on... someone who actually knows might help us out here...please...
