"Trent Green Manifesto"

He made the pro bowl in 2005. A concussion does not result in a decline in performance unless you have multiple ones over time that results in cognitive decline. It was his 1st concussion and he has fully recovered. His sub par stats last yr could be attributed to rust. He was out 8 weeks and he has already admitted his timing was off.
37 is a number, it means nothing unless you are fighting injuries like Marino was. He played very well his last full season prior to his concussion. He has very little wear and tear for his age since he didn't become a full time starter until his late 20's

I know he made the pro bowl in 2005. DC made it in 2004, and his 'stats' have declined nastily since then, so that means nothing.
A single concussion can end a carrer if it is severe enough... or kill you for that matter. Obviously this is not the case with Green, but he concussion was labelled 'severe' and he has yet to prove on the field that he is 'fully recovered'.
I know I sound a bit pessimistic about Green, but in all actuallity I like him. He did great things in KC behind one of the leagues best OL's and a mediocre at best set of WR's. I feel that poor play last year was not only due to being 'rusty' coming off the injury, but not being comfortable with the office Herm Edwards instilled upon taking over in KC.
I sincerely hope he comes back to form in this style of offense he thrived in so well in KC. I am just worried at this point and need proof he is fully recovered instead of taking it on faith. I took it on faith and got my hopes up last season that DC was 'fully recovered' and going to lead the Dolphins to a Super Bowl, and got let down big time.
I'm just being cautious this time around. I wanna see a little magic before I'm ready to jump on the TG bandwagon!!! :D

But everyone needs to factor in the killer running game they have had with holmes and johnson

thanks for the info, that makes me feel more enthused with this move. those are some very good stats and i hope he is fully recovered this season and really thrives with this system

Orchestrated a 29-25 comeback at the N.Y. Jets (10/6), throwing the game-winning 19-yard TD pass to RB Priest Holmes with 0:27 remaining … Threw three TDs at San Diego (10/13), marking his 12th consecutive game with at least one TD pass, a streak that was stopped the following week vs. Denver (10/20) ... Dove head-first for the game-winning nine-yard TD to complete a 17-16 comeback victory vs. Buffalo (11/17) ... Ran for a two-point conversion at Seattle (11/24) ... Racked up 310 yards with two TDs, including a 75-yard TD pass to WR Dante Hall at Denver (12/15) ... Threw for 337 yards with three TDs and one INT vs. San Diego (12/22). Threw a 99-yard TD pass to WR Marc Boerigter, tying an NFL record and establishing the longest completion in Chiefs history. heres some interesting game stats http://www.kcchiefs.com/player/trent_green/

Im figuring youve got about 15 minutes of life span left on this board with a comment like that.

It was worth it. Did anyone read the Daunte manifesto last year? The guy basically guaranteed daunte's success and when I questioned the trade because of his knee and QB style, I was accused of being a Bills fan.

Absolutely fantastic information.

If you did that on your own (it looks like a cut and past job where you've replaced the "he's" with "I've" because you missed some of them) then you did a heckuva job.

Thanks man.

GO PHINS~!

You make an excellent observation with the herm edwards comment. I believe the lack of success could attributed to the new scheme, and Herms play calling. Herm has always been a questionable game tactician, it shouldn't surprise anyone that KC really wasn't the same after the 1st yr under edwards.

They had something really special with Vermeil there.

man he is an awesome player i cant wait to see him calling the shots on offense for us and throwing many a touchdown hopefully leading us to some much needed playoff football!!!
