Trent Green on NFL Live

Great interview. Trent Green is the man. He will be a phin real soon. Culpeppers name was never mentioned. However everyone seemed to agree that Miami's starting QB is not on their roster. It is common knowledge Culpepper is done around the league and even ESPN of all places. Its not even a second thought to rational people. Were getting Trent Green and WERE GOIN TO THE BOWL!!!!!!!!!! LETS GO!!!!!!!

Green said Peterson is out of the country right now but it seems as though a deal is imminent for a pick between round 4-6. Wingo said Green will be the starter in Miami. Not that Wingo or Salisbury saying it makes it true....its just how so matter of fact that they and everyone else outside of this forum says it.

Trent Green stated how he had done everything the Chiefs asked him to do so they could complete the deal, but Carl Peterson and the Chiefs have not kept their end of the deal. He seemed like he was just ready to move on and get this deal done. Then Salisbury stated that the chiefs need to end this and complete the deal. Len Pasquareli talked to Carl Peterson on Tuesday and said he acted like their is still a possibility for Trent Green to still start for the Chiefs. Len then said that this whole ordeal might be a black eye for the Chiefs because Trent is considered a class act and they treating him unfairly.

CP must have completely lost it...The entire league knows LJ is preparing and ready for a holdout if he doesnt get a new contract and Jarred Allen also wants a new contract (not to mention whether or not they are going to sign another DE while JA is suspended)...They absolutely do not have any cap room to keep TG...He looks like the biggest *** in the league right now

Basically the same stuff. Green stated that in Feb the Chiefs asked him to take a pay cut. He said he asked to seek a trade to a team that WANTED HIM TO START(um um throat clear...Miami). This dosent mean he is running from competition...wouldnt you want to start if you felt you could and other teams felt the same way? Wouldnt you want to make starter money? Anyways Peterson said OK. He said Peterson told him if he works out a contract with another team he will do his best to get the trade done QUICKLY. Peterson obviously hasnt held his bargain. Len Pas(whatever his name is) pointed out that other team guys on their roster are going to be bothered by how he is treating Trent who is a class act and team guy. Green stated 6 or 7 teams were interested but, Miami wanted him most and he wanted to go there. They reached a deal. Green also pointed out how Herm has talked about getting younger. In other words Green could read the writing on the wall. He would be silly to stay there and take back up money when he can still start elsewhere. He said he is 100% healthy and can play at least 2 more years. He mentioned that 37 for him is different from 37 for Favre because he hasnt taken near as many snaps as Favre. Green is the man. He has only suffered two injuries, one in 99 which is fine now and last year which he says he has passed countless exams and there is no problem with the concussion. Why do people even care if Culpepper hangs out and tries to get healthy or not when we could have Green for a couple years then Beck for 8 or so? 3 straight 4,000 yard seasons for all of you stat lovers that sweat Culpepper. He cant hang with that.

As soon as Peterson who is out of the country according to Green, get back from his vacation or business trip(whatever he is doing), look for this to be his first order of business. Green to the phins for either a 5th or 6th round pick sometime just before the 1st of the month.....BOOK IT!

As much as I'd like to get Green here, I disagree. I don't think Peterson is going to back down, and Miami isn't going to back down from their offer of a 6th round either. You can't believe half the crap the media puts out there, especially ESPN. Mortenson, Schefter, Clayton all keep saying the same things...it's a complete stalemate with no side on the verge of budging.

I'd love to get some odds on that "Book it" bet.

Peterson pulled this crap with the Pat Surtain deal. He said he would only give up a 4th when we demanded a 2nd. When it came down to it he gave up the 2nd. He plays hardball until the end then gives up what you want.

Fine by me - hey, it's Peterson's funeral. Good luck getting deals done when no one wants to talk to you.
