Longtime reader, first time poster...

I think the trifecta really nailed it with this draft, again. Last year's draft was awesome, and now this year's will be the cornerstone for years to come, I can feel it.

Pat White is going to be awesome... one question tho...
If they use him in the wildcat, and have pennington as the starter, that means white will have to be the number 2... what about henne? Would you guys rather see henne or white develop as the future guy?

He does not have to be the number 2 QB to play in the wildcat. If Pat white is the 3rd QB but is listed as active for the game then the coaches can put him in and take him out as many times as they want.

Outside of the two corners I was not really impressed with this draft.

yeah he does

"Teams will be permitted an Active List of 45 players and an Inactive List of eight players for each regular-season and postseason game. Provided that a club has two quarterbacks on its 45-player Active List, a third quarterback from its Inactive List is permitted to dress for the game, but if he enters the game during the first three quarters, the other two quarterbacks are thereafter prohibited from playing."

unless they dress 3 qbs every game

That is if he is listed as the 3rd emergency QB. Bert Emanuel played in a trick play for the Dolphins a Few years back at QB and he was a WR. If they go into the game w/ 3 active QB's than he can go in whenever and Pennington can go back in as well.
That just means on gameday thier would be 1 less spot open for another position.

Last year we got Henne, Long, Langford, Merling, Bess, among others...

This year we get White, Davis, Smith, and a bunch of WRs...

Guys, I think we are really on the right track... Years of bungled drafts and now these two solid years... We're young, and everyone wants us to fail, but we won't. Go Dolphins!

P.S. Even if Tuna leaves, I think Ireland and Sparano will stay.

There's no question about that, they are here until fire by the owner..The Tuna was the only question mark of the 3..he only wanted to do this until he got a system in place, and once he feels the GM and others can carry that on, he's gone.

And why should you be? No one can judge this draft (two corners you like or not) until at least the end of this season.

All we can do is hope they did as well this year as they did last year. If so, several of these kids will be solid contributors.

After last year, I have a good feeling that we got another solid draft. The SB is in our grasp real soon.

I am not worried about Ireland or Sparano. They are here to stay and it doesn't matter if Tuna stays or go.

What I worry about when Parcells finally does leave, is what happens to the rest of the team and front office. If Parcells gets a similar gig with another franchise, will he raid Miami like he did Dallas? A guy like Todd Bowles would likely be his target to become a head coach. Also, guys like Kacy Rodgers, David Lee could be targets as assistant head coaches.

Another big fear is the flirting Ross did with Carl Peterson this past year. Rumors have him taking over Parcells job when he leaves town. If that is the case, is Tony Sparano and Jeff Ireland "his" guys? Maybe Peterson would want to hire his own GM and coach.

There are definite questions that Parcells depature would create.

I don't think you need to worry about Peterson. They created Parcells' position for Parcells, and when he's gone, we'll still have our GM running the football side of the franchise. As far as our good assistants being raided, unfortunately it's kind of bound to happen, at least in general; that's what happens to really good assistants in most cases. Some of the guys they lured out of college, though, I think might be around with us for a while.
