Something I never thought would happen during my lifetime given how brutal the business is has now happened before I've seen the Dolphins in the SB, let alone win one (I was 4 the last time they made an appearance, so can't count that).

It brought things back too hear Don Stock mention on the Finsiders interview how he went too the playoffs 8 times. wow How times have changed since then. Hope we can get it back.

Was bound to happen . . . Horse Racing has been losing it's core for years and a Triple Crown will put life back in the sport. Should of happened years ago with horses like Silver Charm, Point Given and Charismatic.
This year was an overall very weak field for 3 year old horses but hats off to American Pharoah, he's a great horse . . . and horse racing needed this. See how he fares against the older guys in the Breeders Cup later this year.

Actually.....we won two superbowls wrapped around Secretariats Triple Crown win in 1973.....the greatest horse in history.
It doesn't mean anything obviously.....but I watched 3 triple crown winners in the 70's.....when the Dolphins were great and relevent....so its at least a meaningless good sign.

It was a somewhat weak field.....but his time at Belmont was the second fastest in history (behind only Secretariat).....so you can't anything away from American Pharoah.
Sixth best time . . . but I'm not taking anything away from him at all. Best 3 year old this year for sure and probably the best I've seen in the last few years . . . I had the trifecta with him on top and boxed the 6-7-8 under him so I made a little on the race . . . but Just seems like the perfect combo of desperation for the sport and a weak 3 year old field to combine for a triple crown winner. It's great for horse racing which I am a big fan of.
