I know alot of people are down on him, but Id like to see us maybe pick him up in the second round. I say we stick with Culpepper for one more year, and groom Smith.

I know alot of people on this board are also high on signing Green, but hes 38 years old, how long will he last us?

IMO Taking Smith would be a really good pick for us.

think we can do better than smith in the draft i see smith as a late 3rd up to an early 5th i dont think we need green at36 yrs old, hopefully quinn or stanton

:hmmm: Like who??? I haven't seen anyone in favor of that.

I'd also disagree with Smith, especially that early. Maybe in the 4th.

I'm done with mobile QBs, I don't care how nice of an arm they have. As a matter fact, Randy please draft me a QB that ran in the 5.0's. I want the one and only resort for my starting QB to be to throw the football. I don't even want him to have the ability to get out of the pocket that way he doesn't even give it a second thought.

Okay.... what's wrong with Troy? He has been proven to be accurate. ANd what's wrong with Mobile QB's. Just as long as they are running backs masquerading as QB's like Vick, I see no problem with it.

I'd consider him in the 4th or later (if he's still there), but I couldn't see justifying a 3rd or less with all the ???'s surrounding him right now. Scouts are down on him for a reason and a 2nd is WAY too high for him and an early third would be better used elsewhere in our needs list. 4th might make sense if we haven't already grabbed a higher rated guy before then.

:yeahthat:
Agreed, keep your Michael Vick types and find another Dan Marino!

BTW, Dan couldn't run, but moved VERY WELL inside the pocket.:dolphins:

why would you not want a mobile QB? Why would you not want a QB that can get away from pressure? You would rather have a QB like Bledsoe who just sits there waiting to be sacked?

OK, I was being a little hypothetical. Regardless of where we want to take him, if its in the first or if its in the seventh, would you want to take him?

Its funny how many people had him getting into the first round, then they lose to uf in the championship game and all of a sudden he is garbage. He is a proven winner outside of one game and a great leader. Can you say that about Quinn? Check the big games Quinn played in...

No doubt! See Daunte 2006 as a perfect example

Smith is a pockey QB who can run, not a running QB. Hes got a cannon for an arm, great mobility, great accuracy and can make quick good decisions.
The concerns are that hes short, valid but workable, and that he hangs with a bad posse, concerning, but then so do many players. Hopefully he could be convinved to clean up his act.

Id rather him than Drew Stanton. What exactly has he done to merit second round status? What has he won? Sorry, but the scouts arent always right, and can easily buy into the hype.

I wouldnt mind Smith at all in the third, or honestly even with our NE second, hes a gamer.

To many people on here jumping to assumptions because of that Florida game, just like the hoopla over Russell/Quinn and their game. Please guys, consider more than just these one games before making big statements.
