...The Defense...

I'm so amazed b
y some of you so-called football fans. Its getting ridiculous with the "time to start Henne" or "Ginn sucks" Does anybody realize that we DOMINATED this game on offense...
-Rushing for over 200
yards
-Pennington pla
ying a near flawless game. (TD to Fasano dropped, TD to Ginn dropped)
-Oline completel
y dominating the LOS (I have never seen one NFL Oline dominate the way they did.. ever!)
-Tedd Ginn caught 11 passes for over 100
yards recieving. Ran crisp routes, caught the ball well. For a speedy recievers, he looked like a nice possession guy to move the chains.

Special Teams was outstanding (for a change)
-Lex Hilliard was a beast!
-Carpenter pla
yed great (every kicker misses 1, cant get too mad at the guy.. awesome kickoffs too booting them in the endzone)

Defense - sigh
-Gibril Wilson- Just cut the gu
y now, lets get this over with. He is this years version of Ernest Wilford. He has been horrendous through 2 games. He has been outplayed since preseason.
- Crowder has no coverage skills.
-Manning had 3 scoring drives in under 1 minute!!!

So with that said, some of
you guys still want to blame Pennington?! or Ginn?! ...you guys are rediculous. Blame that defense! We all knew Manning would score and I dont mind the loss so much as to how it took place... Manning EMBARRASSED our defense on our first MNF game in 2 years in our own place.. So before you blame Pennington for his 2 minute drill, even though he still placed a ball at the hands of his number 1 reciever from 40 yards out and before you blame Ginn, our project reciever who finished with 11 catches for over 100 yards and kept moving the chains for us when we needed him most, BLAME THE DEFENSE..

Crowder has no coverage skills? How about our d-coord having no d-coord skills. Why is Aodele on Clark 1 on 1 to start the game? Why is Crowder on him later? Why is Clarke still gouging us on the same routes in the 4th quarter? Why is a safety not lined up on Clark all night?

Shiznit man, this is matchups and Miami was just plain ignorant or dreaming.

I saw yeremiah bell on Clark and he was also smoked.
That was a play Bell slipped and fell behind Clark. Did Clark burn Bell for an 80 yard TD? or a 50 yard reception? No.

Even so, put your safety on him. If the safety gets burned, call it a physical error. The guy may be just flat out better. But when the inside LB gets beat all night, call it mental error. On the coaching staff.

The first play of the game both safties were in position to make the play but Bell decides to jump the RW route opening the window for Clark and Wilson misses an easy tackle.

The defense continued to make major mistakes all night, that was truely disappointing when the offense did everything in it's limited capabilities to win the game.

Ginn played great, people that hate Ginn will always find ways to blame him no matter what....same with Penny. I can't figure out how Penny gets blamed for the hurry up offense when he doesn't make the calls.

Ayodele was supposed to have Safety help from Wilson. Looked like cover two to me. Fact is Peyton is the master of the play action and Ayodele got caught peeking into the backfield. If Wilson makes the tackle, it is a 20 yard gain instead of an 80 yard TD.

We had to pick our poison. Double Clark or double Wayne. We have glaring holes in pass coverage, so either way, Wayne or Clark would have torn us up.

2 deep man under. Clark is much closer to being a WR then a TE, asking Crowder or Akin to cover him was just plain stupid.

We lost because of poor play calling and clock management. We did play very well but the last 2 mins were pathetic.. and take a step back before that, 3rd and 6... we're converting every 3rd down via the pass and we run the ball to set up a fg and give manning of all people, tons of time to drive the field. Being passive killed us... bad coaching!

Couldn't have said it better. We were too passive in the red zone on 3rd down calling run plays instead of trying to convert and than go for a TD.
That is why we lost.

well im blaming the defense there is no reason in any level of football for a te to go 80 yards. That is just un excussable. THat being said i dont think it was 1 thing that killed us. There was 3 tds dropped, poor clock managment, hell we even missed a field goal.

The sad part of this game is that it was not hard to figure out what the Colts were going to to. They had no runing game, no gonzales. They were down to Clark and Wayne and Smith shut down Wayne. All they had to do is cover Clark. I also think a lot blame goes to Allen, he had to cover a rookie WR and could not do that.

Smith had plenty of safety help. He's an interception threat just because of his physique but is by no means Mr. Lockdown just yet.

weird but true, this is the 2nd year in a row in week 2 that the opposing teams first play from scrimmage resulted in a 60+ yd td. coicedentally, it also happened to be a pass over the middle, and correct me if im wrong, but i believe akin adyole was the person who got beat on both plays. just very intresting.
