Some reasons for hope against the Saints...
-Home game! Thats important for a young QB like Henne to be playing in front of his home crowd. Saints in the Superdome are unstoppable.
-Ironically, through three quarters, Saints potent offense struggled versus the Bills.
-As much as we hate the Jets, they actually shouldve/couldve beaten the Saints in Nawlins. Sanchez sucks and couldnt play through the crowd.
-Saints played Kevin Kolb in his 1st NFL start. Asante Samuel left the game.
-Pretty interesting to note, Drew Brees has struggled against the AFC East.
-Saints have not played a true power back. All finesse backs. Kevin Smith, Fred Jackson, a broken-down Westbrook, and Ahmad Bradshaw. Thomas Jones is fading (he ran well on the crappy Bills defense with no LBers) and Brandon Jacobs is a fraud!
-Wildcat! Rex Ryan was supposed to be the guy to stop the Wildcat. He has a great defensive mind. If he cant stop it with that personnel, I dont see anyone stopping it. Saints D is good but their personnel is not as individually talented as the Jets.
-Colston is a beast and Brees's number 1 guy but Colston has never went up against a guy who matches him physically in Sean Smith. (only Revis was able to stop him and Brees struggled)

Add to the list of things to be optimistic about that we've had two weeks to prepare and heal up.

Actually I don't think we do too great after time off. We have lost both opening weeks and I think we lost last year after the bye. Not a 100% sure about that but I think we did.

I know...it's more likely we come out flat than well-prepared, but hey, it SHOULD be an advantage, right?

In addition, it's very rare for a team to be able to put up 40+points in consecutive games.
The Saints had a week to prepare and were obviously jacked up for the game against the Giants. It was built up as a possible preview of the NFC championship and the Saints came out to make a statement.
While I'm sure they will play a solid game this Sunday, I doubt they will be emotionally up for this game like they were last week.
Miami also represents a different type of team than they are used to playing. Miami's offense is a physical, grind it out type of offense. The Saints defense hasn't played a team like that yet.
I don't have a good feeling about this game, but it wouldn't surprise me if the Phins pull it off. Henne will have to make some plays with his arm in order to keep some drives alive. Hopefully he continues to progress with each game

Last year we won after the bye week against San Diego.

Saints would be a bit lazy after a great victory against the Giants.

Our defense is due for a great game; haven't had one yet this year. Hope the pass rush is effective, and our secondary gets on fire.

Henne repeats with a great performance and we really open up the passing game as we dominate with the wildcat.

optimism. off a bye week, more time to prepare, all banged up players will have gotten 2 weeks basically of rest, our running game is the best in the business, our rushing d is 3rd i believe or it may even be better now after the ravens last 2 games, chad henne has looked rlly cool under pressure, we control the clock really well, and we are home.

Big division game coming up for the Saints after they get done in Miami. Possible let down type game?

Why are some people saying Marques Colston is gonna matchup with Sean Smith. From what I remember, It was Will Allen who had to match up with Vincent Jackson, Braylon Edwards, Terrell Owens, etc. I don't think it's gonna change this weekend.

I have a question for you Dolphin experts. Do your corners stay on one side of the field or do they move around? Payton likes to move his wide recievers around in order to create mis-matches, so I'm curious what kind of packages you run.

The Dolphins keep their CB's on the same side of the field no matter who's lined up in front of them. Many offenses we've faced move their #1WR's to the left or right side. So Sean Smith has covered all #1WR's at some point in each game.

they stay on one side, so the best matchup would be to put your best WR on Will Allen, as he sucks more than he is good.

If we play against the Saints like we played against the Colts, I think we have a shot. The one thing that has to change from the Colts game is that we have to score TDs when we get in the Red Zone. If we don't do that and perform the way we did against the Colts, i.e. not being able to score TDs when we had the opportunity, we do not have a chance in H-E-L-L of winning this game.

I know that the Saints are a tough match but I am really optimistic that we can win this game if we execute. Plain and Simple. Apply pressure and see if we can contain what happens downfield. Hopefully Todd Bowles has this secondary in the right mindframe to make plays on this explosive offense. Fun times ahead. Go Phins
