Well The Sports Network has given out their official pre-season predictions, including who they think will be MVP (Tony Romo) and who will be the first qb to lose his job (Brodie Croyle) The Dolphins are mentioned twice:

TEAM THAT REALLY WILL BE THAT BAD
Miami. The Dolphins brain trust of Bill Parcells, Jeff Ireland and Tony Sparano has treated their reclamation project of this once-proud franchise as if they're operating an expansion team. And, while we believe that approach is a necessary evil that will eventually yield positive results, many wins don't look to be in the Fins' near future. The starting lineup is almost exclusively rookies and veteran castoffs, and watching them play together is going to resemble a bad Burt Reynolds movie in 2008.

FIRST-YEAR HEAD COACH WITH NO SHOT
Tony Sparano, Miami. Sparano is a sharp guy and the best coach the Dolphins have had since Jimmy Johnson, but some amalgam of Johnson, Don Shula, and Knute Rockne couldn't even shape this Miami team into an instant winner. Chad Pennington has no one of note to throw to, the o-line is a young, patchwork group, and there isn't a genuine leader on the defense now that Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas are gone. Still, they'll win more than one game, so that's progress.

I completely disagree with all of this. Every team has a shot at making the playoffs. This is not like MLB. We are definally not as bad as last year, and not as bad as people around the nation think we will be. I have no doubt that we could be just as good as the Jets next week, if not better.

I have a hard time believing the author of this piece of garbage has been watching this preseason. I think the team we played last week deserves his immediate attention. But maybe he's not looking for a team that's going to be really, really, really, really bad.

Wow! They have not been paying attention. Anything less than a 6 win season is a failure!

  • We have an offensive line that regularly engages the 2nd level this preseason. We have not seen that for 10 years.
  • We have a run defense that is performing much better than last year.
  • Ginn is begining to play well.
  • Chad P. is efficient, so we should move the chains.
  • The FO has significantly upgrade our special teams. When was the last time you saw our return team make a wall. A long time!
  • We probably should have won 3 games last year.
We are going to surprise some people. We are not a playoff team, but anyone expecting the Fins to look bad will be surprised.

If, we develop a strong running game, we stop the run (additions make me believe we will) and we get a solid play from our QB, watch out, cause there could be a big surprise!!!!
I think the problem this year is we have high level of competition from Jills and Jerks, and there is also some spying specialist team on our division, so it will be hard to defeat them, but I promise you will see some surprising things THIS YEAR. Go Dolphins!!!!!

Again I say, who cares what one man says? It means nothing

I do not think we will make the playoffs this year but this writer has no idea what he is talking about.

No surprise.

Most every report that doesn't originate in Florida is trashing the Phins this year.

TSN? They're still in business? Pfft.....

With all due respect to Canadians everywhere (I do mean this), everytime I travel on business to Canada, I'm reminded how awful TSN is.

I mean I completely understand that hockey is the 'national sport' but they seem to lead with hockey news...ALL THE TIME!!! Regardless of the season. I can't take this 'forecast' seriously.

1 - 15 last year. This is no surprise. Guess the Phins just have to prove all the media outside of South Florida wrong. GO PHINS!!!!!

The great thing about last year is it can't get any worse...

The great thing about this year is that after week 1, we'll already have equalled last seasons win total!

Who cares about Canadian opinions on an American sport?

Thats like ME writing an article handicapping the Montreal Canadiens chances at winning a Stanley Cup this year. Which isn't very good if they keep Carey Price in goal :)

I am usually not the pessimist but unfortunatly it could get 1 game worse

God I hope you are right. If Karma exists the jets should be leading by 30 in the middle of the thrid quarter only to lose 42-30
:woot:

Actually you might want to add a disclaimer to your post.

It was funny you posted that right under a canadian dolphin fan. Maybe say a canadian sports writer that probably hasnt seen a dolphin game in 3 years
