Safety value is dropping rapidly and the market is very unknown in that position.. Holland might end up having to wait until some of these fa safeties still available start signing
I think we just let Holland play out the last year of his contract and let him become an UFA next year.

So just for clarification. The wording here is a 4 yr extension. So does that mean he's still being paid on his rookie deal in 2024 with the new deal kicking in in 2025? Therefore tying him to us through to the end of the 2028 season? Or does the deal start now and he's only contracted to 2027?

4 additional years. He’ll be a free agent after 2028 season.

In reality he’s signed for 5 years totaling 235 over the next 5 years which is 47 million a year.

Good question. It seems it kicks in 25 ?

I believe so.

Comparing salaries today to salaries 30 years ago is ridiculous. The league today earns a lot more revenue from television and merchandise than it did when Marino was playing. Marino was one of the best paid players in the NFL in the era he played in.

All the major sports pay their players a lot more today than they did 30 years ago.

Jack Nicklaus won more majors and the third most PGA tournaments in PGA history, yet he is ranked in the 300’s in total money earned on the tour during his playing career. This just shows how ridiculous comparing salaries now to the past really is.
