And Connor Williams is still available. :ffic:
If we could get him to agree to play LG, then hell yeah. He is really the only available OL who'd be a significant upgrade to who we already have. That I can think of anyway. IMO, Van Roten would not be a significant upgrade.

I hear you and disagree on Roten he has starting experience and flexibility brother. I know that Connor wants to play center, however is anyone going to be offering the money he is seeking now?

Ooo hello again. I see you're finding peace in my supposed agony from this. 😆🥰 I actually love that the majority manifested this. Suhweetness.. I actually said I felt this was coming.

What was I regurgitating again?
Your post made me think how wrong the minority has been, not you.

We’re happy as **** lol

Van Roten's strength is considered pass pro, but his win rate in pass pro is not significantly different than who we have.
Using Pass Blocking Efficiency, which measures pressure allowed on a per-snap basis with weighting toward sacks allowed, we have
Robert Jones 97.1
Liam Eichenberg 97.4
Jack Driscoll (2021) 96.5
Greg Van Roten 97.8
With Eich we are looking at his combined C and G snaps with that number. In his two starts at RG in 2023, he was 98.8 and 100.0. In his lone LG start, he was 98.0.
Jones' EFF is pulled down by a poor performance vs Tenn. After that, his grades per game were 98.3, 97.4, 97.7, 98.3; and 97.8 in the Wild Card game in those atrocious conditions.

He has G and C experience. Thanks for the breakdown brother.

One career start at C.
Van Roten joins the Raiders after spending last season with the Buffalo Bills (2022), where he appeared in 16 games with four starts at center. Van Roten entered the NFL in 2012 as an undrafted free agent with the Green Bay Packers (2012-13) and has played for the Carolina Panthers (2017-19) and New York Jets (2020-21).

According to PFF, he had one preseason start at C in 2022, one in the regular season, and two reserve appearances at C. His pass-blocking grades were much worse at C. He may have played in 16 games but only 9 on offense. So the rest must have been STs.
Unless Miami signs him it is all a moot point though.
