First off, props to Tua for being a QB with little to no fear....BUT

TUA what the h&#% are you thinking?!

Tua needs to start remembering, the moment he goes down, Miami is going down with him. He needs to slide quickly, if that means missing the 1st down by inches...Oh well, get them next drive.

like of been saying a lot he needs to disctate how he gets hit, and moving forward and running to escape danger or seeing a hole early when you feel protection break down and run upfield is a way to do that, now he needs to slide most of the time but lowering a shoulder is fine.

Though these weren’t the type of hits that knocked him out the last few weeks he probably felt the need to prove to himself/others he was ok taking hits. Now that it’s over don’t do that again unless absolutely needed.

Probably not the best decision, given recent history. But when he trucked that Jets player last year, he was mic’d up and you can hear him say he’s done that since high school. As far as I know, he’s never been injured doing that move. My guess is that he’s more prepared for that hit than he would be getting pancaked by two giant d-linemen crushing his hip or slamming his head to the ground.

I’m okay with that move when necessary but this past game didn’t really require them. He was just so hell-bent on being a bad ass returning from injury.

I'd rather turn the ball over than lose Tua, in fact I'd rather lose the game than lose Tua to injury.

Self preservation needs to be priority #1 for Tua!

He's less likely to get hurt that way

As opposed to sliding and a defender taking a cheap shot risking the penalty.

Tua controls the impact and hit in those situations.

Unless he gets blindsided by a defender running full speed from his side. TUA will be fine.

But it's irrelevant. People complained when he slid too early for the 1st. Had he gone another yard he might get popped.

If he throws it away.... many cry that he had miles of space to run.

So if Tua is dictating the impact I am OK with it.

But my opinion is really irrelevant lol

I don’t understand why football players don’t toughen up their skulls/heads like the rest of their body?

Like SHAOLIN training style? :bang:

It is all about being smart when he runs. Both the 2 runs were he didn't slide were fine. Both had a single defender who was notcoming down hill because they couldn't risk Tua going by just for a big hit. One misses and it was a TD, the other and a first and then some. The he slides on he had like 3 guys coming down Hill and that us the type you better slide for sure or you are taking a big hit.

I mean he’s never been hurt when he’s done the initiating contact. At least his focus is on the hit, he gets hurt when his eyes stay downfield too long and is not focusing on the hit. He might get a little better at sliding, but he is never going to slide on 3rd amd short. Just not going to happen. I also think him being natural right handed and being able to throw around that shoulder is more effective than a normal righty throwing the left shoulder

Almost all of Tua's injuries have come when he's been off-balance or not in control. I felt 100% good that he was controlling the contact on those plays.
