Some Tuesday afternoon quick hits:

### The Dolphins say they have a one-week exemption on Dion Jordan before they are required to add him to the 53-man roster. So the Dolphins could keep him off the 53 all week if they decide not to play him Sunday.

### Brent Grimes, who suffered a thigh injury Sunday, returned to practice today. Jimmy Wilson (hamstring) remains out.

### Though Mike Pouncey gave up a sack against Chicago, offensive coordinator Bill Lazor said Pouncey “was definitely better [than in his first game]… in every way we would have expected: balance, finish, drive, pass protection, run blocking. I thought the guy played a really good game. I’m excited for Mike.”

### Give credit to safety Michael Thomas, who did good work in an expanded role Sunday. Only one pass was thrown in his coverage area and it was incomplete.

### So why has Rex Ryan been on the front of the New York Daily News web site wearing a Dolphins jersey (and jerseys of three other teams)?

Longtime NFL writer Gary Myers speculated that Ryan could end up as coach of the Dolphins, among others a few other teams, if he’s fired. Myers said the Dolphins and 49ers and possibly the Falcons would be good fits for him. This would be moot, of course, if Joe Philbin makes the playoffs. And Jim Harbaugh would remain the Dolphins' top target if Philbin is let go

He was interviewd here before. Said we had a lot of work to do. **** him. Now that someone else building the team he's going to be coming in. Don't think k so.

Rey Ryan to Miami rumors?? Thats even dumber than the trading for Harbaugh rumors. Rey Ryan is not a Stephen Ross kind of guy, not is he a great coach.

Ross is a Jets fan, I'm sure he would love to have Rex here

He would destroy what little has been built...just like Wannstedt and Saban. Defensive minded coaches with not a care about the offense outside of running the football. It's a slow death.

No thanks.

Actually my proper response is, "**** NO".

DC maybe..

although if Coyle can keep it up, maybe not. HC? since game 14 of 2011 blowing 3 games against teams with losing records when they played them, he's won 15 out of 42 games, was oblivious when that clubhouse exploded, coddled Sanchez and actually hired Sparano calling him his offensive counterpart.
Child please.. This is not one of those cases where "one man's trash is another man's treasure" (like apparently he thought The Meatball and the OL coach were).

Rex is a good coach in some ways and he has been hamstrung by awful QB play, but a lot of that is his own doing.

But at least he would be a step up from Philbin, because he has some demonstrable areas where he excels, unlike Philbin.

A lot of Jets fans and media feel that Rex is getting a raw deal and are blaming Idzik for the state of the roster that makes it hard for any coach to win

1 win and three teams are chopping at the bit for him? I don't believe it. DC yes, everyday of the week but as head coach don't think any top organization would bite based on performance. He completely ignores the offensive side of the ball.

Do I want Rex here no but he is a better coach than Philbin.

Rex might work as HC for a team with a very good offense already in place. For us, he's not a good fit. We still have needs on offense and Rex would ignore those. Under him, the Jets offense has gotten worse, not better.

Id be disgusted. He doesn't know the meaning of the word class
