Tunsil impressing early on

When I saw this article I was a little surprised, i keep seeing Omar Kelly tweet that Tunsil is struggling and not living up to expectations. Omar being Omar?

Well, he is an expert on O-line play after all...or at least that is what he has told us many times. To me if Omar believes he is struggling, the Tunsil must be impressing.

Omar stated that Dallas Thomas was outperforming Tunsil in OTA's on radio today.

Coaches impressed with Tunsil, teammates impressed with Tunsil, former players (Stephenson) impressed with Tunsil. Omar says he's struggling. Omar MUST be right.

when I hear about on Omar opinion, I just assume the opposite is true

As a rookie learning a new position I'm sure Tunsil is occasionally getting beat by the vets. Once the pads go on and he's got the play book down I think that will not be the case.
All the coaches say he's doing great and learning fast. I'll take their word over Omar's any day of the week.

Exactly. Omar uses exclusively isolated anecdotal evidence and data to support his points. Coaches actually understand how players progress and see the larger picture.

I never really heard "mean streak" or "road grader" in describing Tunsil. He's a phenomenal athlete for his size, but so are a lot of guys in the NFL. Jake Long was a nasty road-grader when he was drafted, but he hadn't mastered the athletic kick-step technique to get set up in pass protection. Once he did, he was dominant. I'm curious to see how Tunsil does in one-on-one drills in pads when training camp starts. Last year, it really exposed the guards. Need to "feel" Tunsil when the pads come on versus guys like Suh and Wake.

Hilarious that someone out there pays Omar to talk football
