Turkey of the Year 2006-Junior Seau

Decent read, all the way up to where he mentions Junior. Is this an offbeat writer, John, or is the area not as warm to him as they once were?
 
The article seems to call Seau a 'turkey' simply because he decided to retire then changed his mind a few days later. I'm sure we've all been fairly convinced about a decision we were making and then changed our view on it only a short time afterwards. Okay, so it seemed a bit silly but it's hardly something to nominate someone as 'turkey of the year' over.

Just checked the Patsies' stat line. Seau is the leading tackler, leading solo tackler, and more than double the next defender in tackles for loss. The guy is simply amazing. I just have to give it up for him.

BTW, I used to live down near there and I can confidently say that the real turkey is any guy who is stuck writing typo-filled, inconsequential articles for a lame 'newspaper' that reads at the seventh grade level and has a circulation of 10,000, half of which are geriatrics. Somebody call the Pulitzer committee! NOT!
