Turner in ATL opens trade for Ryan

With Michael Turner signing in ATL it takes them out of the Darren McFadden sweepstakes leaving them only to want Matt Ryan now we have real leverage being that we still could take Ryan cause nobody really fears McCown. Maybe just a long shot but I could see a three team trade with ATL,MIA,Dallas

Miami gets Dallas 2 first rounders & Spears or Carpenter as well as DeAngelo Hall or a second from ATL
Atlanta gets the #1 overall pick Matt Ryan
Dallas gets the #3 Darren McFadden

And everyone lives happily ever after.
 
I don't see that deal happening but I do believe Atl would love to pick up Ryan and have him grow with that team. We could possibly trade down with Atl for their 2nd and maybe an eaxtra pick.
 
you beat me to it.. as soon as i heard the news that atlanta got turner i was thinking the same thing. well sort of... i dont know about all that trading but i could really see atlanta swapping picks with us along with one of their 2 2nd round picks and maybe a 3rd rounder or an early pick next year.
 
MF DOOM huh? hes alright...not one of his biggest fans, but that shows good taste in music.

anyways, to the actual topic. no way that deal gets done. how is it that everybody gets 1 pick in the first round, and we get 2 picks in the first round AND 2 players?? jeez.

now i wouldnt count out any trades being made, or the drafting of a specific player, because i seriously have no idea what were gonna do come April...BUT, i think we can count out that dream scenario in the original post.

why do we need Spears? We signed two D-lineman in FA and we have Holliday, Roth, Wright, Solai. We also have JT, Moses as DE/LB types.
Spears is nothing special.
 
I still don't see Atlanta's motivation to move up. Their GM is a Patriots decendant which is all about acquiring extra picks not giving away picks to move up in the draft. Also Mike Smith probably is going to want to take his John Henderson in this draft, so there is a good chance he goes Sedrick Ellis or Glenn Dorsey. Finally, why would they trade up when Miami and St. Louis, the only two teams ahead of them are not looking at quarterbacks with their first round picks?
 
Prior to all these free agent signings, I wanted to trade down with Atlanta. However, now I want Jake Long, and don't think we would get him at 3.
 
i doubt we'll trade the #1 pick.
1. When was the last time the overall #1 pick was traded??
2. Atlanta will most likely trade down now that they signed RB Turner. No need for McFadden
 
NFL network speculating Atlanta may try and trade down with a team (Dallas) looking to take McFadden before the Jets/Raiders pick. Says they are in desperate need of picks to replenish talent (much like us).
Still, the fact is they NEED a QB possibly worse than anyone else in the league. Matt Ryan seems to have seperated himself, and is reportedly drawing a lot of interest from Atlanta. Hard to believe he will get through the top 10 should Atlanta trade out. Either he will go to the Chiefs or Ravens or a team like Detroit or Carolina or Da'Bears might trade up to get him.

Question will be, do they really love Ryan? Or will they be happy enough with Brohn or someone even later like Woodson, henne, flacco or Brennen. If they love Ryan, will Ireland and Tuna be able to feign enough interest to get them to bite?

Many questions, this offseason is only getting more interesting.
 
No way we'd land 2 first round picks, DeAngelo Hall and Spears/Carpenter. Not unless we included Jas...... nevermind.
