What the Dolphins accomplished Sunday afternoon by overcoming minus-3 rushing yards to record a 24-20 victory over visiting Minnesota was historic.
No team since the 1961 Philadelphia Eagles overcame such a negative rushing total to win a game. The Eagles, who were at minus-12 rushing, defeated Washington 27-24.
Miami's paltry total was the lowest in the franchise's 41 seasons, 17 yards less than the previous record, set most recently in a 38-3 playoff loss to Denver in 1999.
The Dolphins, though, overcame their inability to run with an efficient performance from quarterback Joey Harrington and two fourth-quarter defensive touchdowns
