I'm going to have to seek some confirmation on this. It runs a little counter to what I'd been told.

If the *knee* is the problem, then this is very damning indeed for Tony Sparano. Jake Long sprained his MCL playing in meaningless preseason action I believe during the 4th preseason game of 2010. Nobody thought the starters should still be in, least of all proven ones like Jake Long, but Sparano kept him in and he ended up hurting his knee because of it. He played the entire season with it. If he's done permanent damage to it...so help me...

I wonder if Tony opted to play Long in that game because his buddy Garrett wanted to give a particular pass rusher or two reps against an elite tackle. Sparano was talking yesterday or the day before in his presser how coaches make those sorts of arrangements. Either way, yeah it's pretty damning, just would like to think there was a minor, still inexcusable, reason for it.

Reggie took alot crap from alot of people but you gotta love this guy's work ethic and hunger. A motivated Reggie Bush can be one of the most dangerous playmakers in the league. Hopefully luck works in our favor and he keeps healthy.

Will might be toasted.. I'm a little worried about Thomas. But it seems each the offense and defense are having their moments

if i recall correctly the boys didn't have any of their starters in the game...it was an assinine move by sparano...but watch preseason game 4 he'll probably have bush out there in the 2nd quarter...just dumb

and if long is gonna deal with this all year why not have the surgery this offseason instead of this crap...unreal how dumb some of the things we do are...gonna possibly lose an all pro left tackle cause you want to see him and the o take reps against the boys 3rd string...as if that means crap

man I hate hearing how our new big back is getting clothes-lined, c'mon man arm tackles ? I really didn't want the dolphins touching DT in the draft but I really hope he ends up pulling it together and being our starter.

I want to say Sparano was upset with the offense's performance in last year's preseason and that's why he was playing the starters so late. He wanted to toughen them up and send a message.

If so, that's about the stupidest way to send a message. Sure, stay in, get your ***** kicked around by some scrubs who are desperate to get a job.

We've had some seriously dumb coaching since Shula left...

I haven't read any reports of Long limping, or favoring a leg, or showing any kind discomfort. So I'm hoping the "sore-knee" thing is just a smoke screen for Sparano to keep Long out of practice. I don't think he wants there to be ANY sort of chance of him getting injured again before this season starts, even in practice.

If that's the case, then I like it. Long was dominating oppenents with a busted knee AND shoulder last year. I'd be fine if we don't see him until the Patriots.

i don't care what the message was...it was assinine...and had long been out for the season as a result sparano would have been roasted...but now it sounds like there's lingering effects to deal with...

just the definition of a dumb decision...but playing with a torn labrum is dumb also...we do dumb things

if he turns into tony boselli like career we'll know who to blame...the oline "guru"

Not sure I ever understand this argument. He could have been hurt on the very first play of that preseason game or the last play of the first regular season game, injuries happen but because you feel you can blame Tony for playing him too long it is his fault when he got injured??
